Defiance history

Don't know if this has already been discussed but can we have a detailed look at the events before the Defiance TV show/game. A history book if you will. To bring us up to date. I have heard of The Pale Wars but no nothing about it.

I bet escyos has it up on Defiance Wiki but from memorry:
- 6 races came to earth.
- Destroyed / teraformed in the process.
- Space and the upper atmosphere not travelable due to debris (arks coming down). ( No atmospheric flight)
- A lost alien race which might still be somewhere in space (hint at a common enemy? coming? S02 end S01? never? )
- World is now in a state of rebuilding (i'd say similiar to after WW2) where people are working together instead of against each
other.
- Ark tech is being scavenged from the space debris (arks), we have no idea why yet.
- City of Defiance (place of TV series) is probably one of the central hubs on earth at the moment in USA. (not ever sure if EU and other continents still exists at all).

I also expect some power struggles within Defiance since Tony Curran's character hinted on Twitter that he and the mayor of Defiance (Julie Benz) are adversaries if I understood correctly.

Probably not going to happen but wouldn't it be awesome if they have like a prequel comic series which describes what happend?

Would love to see a prequel comic in the same vein as the prequel comic for the RAGE game.

Actually there were seven races that came to Earth, not including alien animals and plants or the new species that arose during and after the terraforming.

The Votans fled their own star system (IIrc, they're from multiple planets/moons of a system) to Earth, not knowing that Earth had a sentient indigenous population.
Negotiations start between Earth and Votan leaders, while the majority of the Votans were in some version of stasis. Apparently this was a one-way trip for the Votans. They're stuck here, but weren't looking to wipe out a sentient race.
After 6 years of negotiations with no results, something caused a series of explosions on the Arks. Which triggered the start of the Pale Wars and debris, including their terraforming equipment, begins falling to Earth.
9 years of Pale Wars.
~20 years of ???

What I'm still confused about is the tereforming. Would I be correct in saying it was unintentional?

Or at least the Votans say it was?

OH! And where did the hellbugs come from? I find it hard to believe they would pack a whole race of hellbugs along with them when fleeing their solar system.
