I like to think they are going to introduce all kinds of creatures and blame it on the teraforming of the earth and destroying ecosystems and the earth forming new ones...but total off-the-wall and never possible to ever create a new species that fast.

syfy shows / movies are fun these days sure they can make a srs show or movie but from what i seen from the ads from the ppl who work at syfy they said they do this for the laughs and stuff. i enjoy the cheesy shark movies and monster movies.

That was my first impression. But I assumed that they would not have made that glaring of an oversight. And even if those are hellbugs, they could just retcon the whole thing on the games if they wanted.
I thought they looked like transformed wolfs or bears.
If you listened during the episode they mentioned what they are, i think it was during the scene when they were in the hospital
