I just watched the two episodes and really enjoyed the show. Do not know, why some people are really complaining about everything. Looking forward to the next episodes![]()
The whole episode, the way everything was introduced and the acting all seemed a bit bland to me. Though that may have been because I watched the new Game of Thrones episode beforehand. People here like to compare it to Firefly, but in my opinion it really lacks the flair of that show and it's characters.
To name a few things that annoyed me: the relaxed driving towards the arkfall at the beginning seemed unfitting, the live-action trailer for the game sold that much better imo. Furthermore the fact that the game character wasn't mentioned at all. Just a short mention of how they ripped an arkhunter who helped them off to get the gem would have sufficed. This show is supposed to be connected to the game but it feels like it's just two stories in the same fictional universe. Also teenage angst love drama and family feud. Ugh. Someones underling shoots the towns lawkeeper without any consequences for his employer who escalated the entire situation. Whatever, hey main character, wanna have his job?
I dunno, perhaps the show will grow on me, but so far I wasn't very impressed.
the shows will not be that long. that was just the pilot. the shows i would assume to be 1 hour at most. The special effects are the syfy trademark. everything they make looks like that and adds a certain "charm" to it.
I think I've figured out the only thing I recall having to stop and really go "hrm" about (at least for me)... minus the kind of plain title-sequence (but again, if that can free up more time for air-time story-telling, no worries there). It'd have to be when the mayor's assistant was popping shots at Nolan's roller. I kept thinking how when he fired at him, it looked/seem like Nolan was only a few car-lengths away and gaining pretty quick... and yet the assistant casually fired away, then took off, and when they showed the view out of the windshield it still seemed a good distance was between them. Seem like one of those tiny oversights from an older days crime-fighting sitcom (like Chips or Starsky & Hutch) or something... but still wasn't that bad... tad baffling a bit, but still worked I suppose, hehe.![]()

Just because you can't handle the truth... doesn't mean somebody is trolling!

One, it's not a nuke, it was probably an improvised Directed Energy Weapon. Two, all the humans were A - Far behind the sphere or B - Well above the attack and behind solid cover. The aliens were at the bottom of almost sheer cliff in a valley. It's like flooding an alley up to the first floor roof and getting angry because the people on the third floor of the buildings that make up the alley didn't get swept away.
I love everything about where this topic has ended up.
