New to Xbox, quick downloading question

    Hi,

I noticed this when downloading the game originally and now its doing it with the patch too....when my controller times out due to inactivity, the download stops completely until I turn the controller back on. Is this normal? It seems crazy to me that I have to babysit this controller for the entire hour and a half download, constantly flipping the stick to make sure it continues to be "active".

My download speed is at .12MB's, so as you can imagine I'm looking at a couple hours, at least, of this. Is there a way around having to have my controller on for the entire download? If not, is there a setting somewhere that I've missed which will keep the controller from becoming inactive if a button isn't pushed for "X" number of minutes?

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm used to PC downloads where I can start it, go to bed and have it ready for me this next morning. This seems very weird to me.

Never does this for me, might be your connection?

It may be due to your connection, but mine never stops when the controller disconnects. Yeah, the download window closes, but if you let it sit it's supposed to download in the background.

Now, the in-game downloads might be different (and it sounds like in-game is your issue). A wired controller never disconnects, but I am guessing you do not have one or you would probably have done that...

I am not sure if action has to be accomplished or if you could set your controller in such a way that the analog stick was off-center. That might keep it active, but I am not sure. I do know that there is no setting for that and I am guessing it is build into the controller itself rather than the system.

if you mean your wireless pad times out and turns off then plug in your recharge cable and it wont happen.

Are you sure the download stops? My friend thought his stopped when his controller shut off because of the message that pops up, but it still was downloading, he was just being a drama queen. Im guessing because of the word "Critical".

Crisis averted! It does indeed continue to download after you get the critical error! What a silly pop up....
