Give people something and some of them will complain about. Some folks just can't be satisfied. The game is fun. Story is the typical MMO story which is pretty good. I'm not going to spell it out here cause I'm not about spoilers. Complaining about same old thing gets a bit on my nerves.

World of Warcraft: Kill 10 pigs, bring me 20 backs of useless stuff, or do this dungeon 400 times for this piece of epic gear that will be useless in 6-8 months depending on when they release an expansion.

Rift: The grown ups version of WoW, and in my opinion a lot better.

Eve: I have no clue cause I don't like spreadsheets but I can only speculate that its as soul sucking as WoW. Might be awesome though never know.

Guild Wars 2: WoW rinse and repeat with shinny stuff

Aion: WoW rinse and repeat and flap your wings occasionally.

The Secret World: Besides Defiance, TSW has been the most fun I've had with an MMO in years.

One of the 40ish Korean Made MMOs: WoW rinse and repeat without Pandas, but maybe a Raccoon or 2.

Moral of the story is MMO's all have a rinse and repeat style because without repeatable content people run out of things to do. I think Defiance does it right by having all the random things you can do to keep yourself entertained. Sometimes I take a break from working on websites and studying for exams to shot some stuff in the face. If they did promise content and it hasn't come yet then guess what, there was a problem, there is always a problem when your dealing with an MMO, it is just the nature of the best. WoW, the grandmaster of MMO in some peoples eyes for some reason that is lost on me, still has bugs, still crashes on occassion, be it rare, and its older then dirt. Oh and it puts new content out maybe once a year if people are lucky. And this game has just as much content as that terrible pile of shtako, Vanilla WoW had. If your expecting content on the level Vanilla through Pandas then you are a terrible person and should smack yourself. Just a little one not a big one cause that would be terrible but go ahead and smack yourself a little.

I've played this game for about 20ish hours of gameplay, maybe more, not tied into steam to keep count, and I haven't finished the main story and I still have about 20 or more side mission to go back and do. I haven't even done the second mission in San Fran yet. So again I say, plenty of content, way to go Trion you are doing an amazing job and don't listen to any of the haters.

you think 20 hours is good for an mmo? you are almost finished all the mission content, there is not very much in SF.

there is only 1 storyline, both races are the same, only 1 starting area.

Patch Notes are on the forums, located where any other game posts their patch notes. You really have no argument here. As far as content by the episodes, when servers are up, view your Pursuits and look at the specific pursuits for Episode 1 and Episode 2 (The series premiere you watched last night). This is your own fault for not knowing these things, not the games.

i knew about the pursuits as soon as they came out, if you consider that real content then enjoy, i was under the impression we would be getting new episode missions every week, not 2 tiny pursuits which are just more recycled content

41 year old gamer here playing since space invaders, wtf is that even supposed to mean anyway, what does your age matter?

and what are we supposed to wait for anyway, we waited, the show is out, the patch is out and theres no new content and there isnt even a release date set for the dlc that is supposed to be in the next week

How is this list a lack of content? What games quote "Have content" in them that make this list look lacking?

If YOU can't find any of these things listed to be fun then this isn't the games fault. This is YOUR fault. Trion has made a great game filled with content. Some is even repeatable because its just that much fun to do.

I dont get it where people come off saying this game has a lack of content.

Lets debate games that are similar to Defiance that have quote "content" and I bet you we can have a civil discussion as to why Defiance is equally rich with content if not more so.

Oh yes, its a MMO that will forever be growing with new content. Its just not going to come out every 2 weeks.

But your argument of lack of content is laughable when you follow it by saying you played Space invaders.

How much non-repeating content was in that game? How much non-repeating content was in Mario bro's? How much non-repeating content was in Bond Golden Eye? Or Contra? Or Final Fantesy? Or Bubble Bobble? Or or or...

You get my point right? Most of the greatest games in history is you doing the same thing over and over again. If the game isn't fun for you then thats because its not the right game for you.

Risk, Chess, Checkers all the same content over and over again.

Wow, GW, FF, Diablo, Starcraft, Civilization, Minecraft, i can go on forever. Zelda! All is the same content over and again so where are you coming from?

This sir, so much this. I just wish kids these days were forced to learn a basic understanding of client side and server side coding so that when their shtako 'breaks', they don't go immediately crying, they log it, note the issues and if possible, how to replicate it, then file it professionally to the developer/manufacturer.

Sure, it won't happen, but, I can dream...Be it however naive.

If the developers did their job correctly, instead of relying on "kids" to report obvious issues with the developers code slinging ability, maybe this game would not be so flawed. However if Trion is going to use it's consumer base for alpha testing on their product without paying them, then neither they nor you really has a basis to complain about the consumers complaints when the masses b*tch about the many flawed and incomplete aspects of this game.
As far as "I just wish kids these days were forced to learn a basic understanding of client side and server side coding" Trion should most certainly have had a basic understanding of this architecture before launching this game. If they would have done their job correctly we wouldn't be going through this "shtako" at this time, we would be happily playing this game. It is not an unreasonable request to make of a manufacturer that they test and hold to certain customer expectations before releasing their products among their sales demographic.
I do enjoy this game despite it's lack of content, variety, or any semblance of an engaging storyline. I see great potential for this franchise if it is handled correctly in the future. I just hope that in the coming weeks and months Trion gets their act together. However bashing the community that is vocal about their disappointment in this game thus far serves no purpose. Please consider that if there were not so many problems with this game, there would not be so many complaints in the first place.

they are talking, but not saying anything at the same time, just like last nights live stream, they hinted at spoilers but said absolulely nothing

oh but they are my friend,but alot of the moan bags on here do not have the patience to understand what is being said,
plus if you was to have a game breaking problem with the other game i mentioned,trust me you would not have any info to find out if it was being sorted or not,but at least with trion they will, even if its not now now now,

u do realise lots f ppl had probs playing gw2 cos they went into gw2 with a wow mind set??? it's as different from wow as apples and oranges man gw2 is still my fav mmo to date ^^ just waiting to see if TESO can beat em i do agree gw2 has some rinse and repeat type stuff... but it is the furthest thing from wow :P
