PC Critical Error after Patch Today

I am getting a PC Critical Error after Patch that just came through why are we getting this an when will it be fixed?

Server is down, that is why.

Me 2, "the defiance server is not available".. just wait till servers are up

I was playing normally and no issues after this mornings update and then all of a sudden they shut down the servers saying they are having major issues so they shut down the servers for PC and Xbox with No ETA and I didn't notice any issues during my gameplay even after the update
