I'm also of the mind, especially when seeing post apocalyptic scenarios presented, that trucks are far more useful and would actually get you where you need to go much quicker. Yeah, they don't go as fast, but they can go many places cars cannot and don't get stuck nearly as easily......kind of comparable to the story of the tortoise and the hair. I'm not telling that long story, look it up if you're not familiar with it....lol

Oh, to the point of the thread, I have a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer with about 50K miles, an offroad package and all wheel drive, with tow-package and winch. The winch is the only mod I've made to it, it needed nothing of significance beyond that. My back-up vehicle is a Harley Davidson...
I have to say I strongly agree with you. I'm 22 and I am starting to realize cars aren't as practical as a truck these days. I mean I live on my own with my girlfriend and she has a new 2013 Ford Escape so we can haul small amounts of things back and forth but I feel as tho I should see if I could trade my stang for a 2000-2010 diesel. Seems more practical for now until i can afford to have a weekend fun car like my stang is now. Why diesel? because I love the turbo sound haha my stang's supercharger whistles around 2,100 rpm's and it's glorious!

Lmao a sonata huh? Well as long as you're having fun lol. Yeah I wish I had a pre-1974 muscle car. In CA the emissions prevent me from running without cats so my car is quite tame in normal driving conditions. Yeah I have buddies who love their diesels and going on about all that crap too, I just don't like when I am driving around and some rich kid in a lifted diesel pulls up next to me trying to race cuz he thinks my car is stock lol. I smoke him but I just don't like that level of arrogance haha.

Now that's an off-road beast! Sick! I'm not much of a Chevy guy but my dad and I restored a 1973 Jeep CJ5 when I was 15 as my 1st car but it only had a straight-6 engine and a 4 speed grearbox with a granny 1st gear, bad boy topped out at 60! My dad knew I'd drive fast so he didn't do the 302 small block ford swap I wanted haha. But it was metallic orange with a 2" lift and has some 32" super swampers, fun jeep but we sold it a couple years ago since it was just collecting dust since I had a 96 mustang GT I bought at the time.

Always loved a nicely done falcon, props to you sir. That ride looks cherry! Not to mention, a total sleeper! Ever run it down the track?
