Defiance Show Vs. Game **Possible Spoiler**

[POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR THOSE THAT HAVEN'T SEEN THE SHOW YET]

Allow me to preface this by saying I do not know the designers ideas or thought process moving forward, or how they go about deciding how to link the game to the show. In the future maybe we'll see what I am writing about below.

So I watched the show after getting home last night and I enjoyed it, just like I am enjoying the game. However I do hope that the immersion becomes a little more immerse. What do I mean? Well sure we helped Nolan and Irisa in game claim the crystal that saved the town of Defiance at the end of the show...BUT....I feel as though it would have been a lot more conducive to have us partake IN that battle that transpired at the end of Episode 1.

We would have felt that immediate connection, like, "Dude I was there man!"........."I fought in that battle!"....etc.

There were so many townsfolk helping defend the wall that we could have imagined ourselves in the show somewhere along that high ground shooting down on the baddies.

My point is I hope that the immersion gets better, I'd like to see more "in your face" direct relation between the game and the show ....if after all....that was a major selling point. But nonetheless I will continue to play the game and watch the show.

you actually expect to get things that are advertised in this day and age? especially from large media companies?
the only thing you can expect that you will actually get based on advertising ... is more advertising!!!!

It's hard for them to do that in a real show production because it would look stupid on TV to have all the combatants run and jump all the time.

I think they may have over-hyped the "insert that made up marketing term when they could've just said link" between the game and the show.

Maybe down the road or season too, but yeah. it's clear that given the production times of TV shows it is literally impossible to truly link a show with the actions of a game.

On a side note, while Defiance would be cool to go to, I would much rather go to other parts of the world. Making the world bigger I think would help with the...mythos of the IP.
Instead of us tailgating the show, why not send us to the Storm Divide, or Winnipeg (OR TIMMINS), or the quarantine zone.
Or even other regions like Europe, Asia or Russia.

I think that would be better.

Kinda difficult to partake in a battle in St. Louis when you're buisy cruising through the outskirts of San Francisco killing insects and solving the overpopulation problem of raiders/99ers/etc.

Still, it would have been nice to at least get mentioned at the beginning of the show. Just a few sentences about how Nolan and Irisa ripped off a fellow arkhunter who helped them in order to get the gem. Maybe a little regret to help with their character development.

Well if we would be around there, there wouldnt be deaths (41 so far) and they didnt had to charge that ball.

I mean, few folks died by 1 shot, the other guys buy 1 votan gunshot, we take such blows pretty much nonstop and still continue.

Put 5 of us ark hunters there and we would wipe the valley clean, would be quite a boring episode i'd say

Would have been funny to watch. All the citizens of Defiance holding the high ground, while a few crazy arkhunters bunny-hop around the valley with grenade launchers.
