SHOW: Horrible sloppy mess of a story that so far has NO tie into the game at all. The only thing even slightly similar about the 2 is the fact the word DEFIANCE is in the title of both. ..... oh and a Bioman. The Bioman so far is the ONLY thing from the game and the show that tie together....

Oh i know one of you out there is all "BUT BUT He had the crystal taken from him in the Ark Fall that we helped him get in the story mission....

Oh you mean the crystal that didn't even look the same at all in the game vs the show..... oh you mean the crystal I saved Nolan's life to help him get.... then he steals from me and gives me some rifle.... oh that crystal.... G T F O that was such a pathetic tie in I almost wanted to turn the show off right there.

The entire show takes place IN the city of DEFIANCE, a city we have yet to even see. We can all assume that Nolan will be the LAWKEEPER in DEFIANCE when we get there, but the question now is WHEN THE HELL DO WE GET TO DEFIANCE!...

The enemy in the show is a race we have yet to even see in the game, so I can only hope some how they tie whatever mess of a story is going on in the show to the game some how. Otherwise we are playing 2 totally different story archs in the world of DEFIANCE.
We will never get to Defiance. I can see that place getting blown up and maybe getting to some other "town" in the future.
Too bad because IMOO having actual interaction with the town of Defiance would have been a better melding option then this West Coast Midwest thing they have going.
BUT, I do hope they get us to Reno by the end of the year. Maybe Denver...because that is a city Nolan did mention in the TV show.

Will we ever get "true" Arkteck that we can sell for credits??? unknown. Seems like that should have been a no brainer to have that in the game.
The only true tie in will be the Shandou family line I am guessing and the Battle of Defiance from the Pale Wars.

PvP has zero to do with the tv show so that is for what? To nerf the PvE players gaming experience I guess.

Wait... it was the first damn episode.
First impressions last the longest. My first impression is that the show has nothing to do with the game so far. That for the record is not a good first impression.

That would to me anyway, bring cohesiveness(sp) between the two.

Nim is very tough, but if I can kill him, you can! You just have to be really patient and a lot of avoid.

Lol what the hell did you want? What would be the perfect scenario? Your character in games pops up and starts dancing with Nolan? Nolan gives a shout out to all the ark hunters that helped him retrieve the crystal by name? The show has to stand independently on its own just as the game has to. At first you will see minute details and then I imagine more major overlapping. The different story lines is to be expected if both want to be successful.

Sounds like they should have based the game in the same location of the tv show. At least that way you'd see the different races in game and there would be a big central hub to gather at instead of barren outposts with a dumpster. I'm confused as to how the game ties in with the show since so far they are basically the polar opposites of each other. No volge? Dark Matter what? What are cities for $500 Alex?

The TV show much like the game has very dated computer graphics. Both of which need some work.

No what I wanted in the show was Hellbugs not Bird Bugs.
No what I wanted in the show was accuracy in how items look in the game and in the show.
( The energy rod in the game was yellow with crystals, in the show it was a giant blue *****. )
No what I wanted was Nolan to mention SOMETHING about how they just came from San Fran area.
No what I wanted was weaponry that in is the game to be in the show..... WTH Gun did the Gov. aid have.... COLDtech.... WTH is that?

What I didn't want in the TV Show was a clear rip off of Romeo and Juliet.
What I didn't want in the TV Show was poorly driven character development with mildly concerning issues aside from "Oh DEFIANCE is about to be rolled hardcore"

If you sit back and look at the show and look at the game what you see is a clear failure on the part of 2 dev teams to work in synergy to keep both sides happy. In short, so far, this is a failed attempt at drawing me into a show that was supposed to run tandem in plot with the game.

When both teams sat down and decided to create a game and a show that work together to drive a story they should have at the very least had the 2 take place in the same location, as it is right now I have no concern for what happens in DEFIANCE because atm I am still kicking dirt over NIMs corpse.

Honestly I can't think of any TV show that has had that. Care to give some examples?

like the game and the show but hope they interact a bit more for the games sake considering we know there are a lot of things in the show not in the game such as
    - knifes, lots of knifes
    - bikes, no idea why we got stuck with quads when next to no one in the show had one and i cant imagine one never making its way down to san fran
    - voulge, will they make an appearance?
    - rollers seen in the show
    - arkfalls that aren't space fuel crystals or sentient scrap we can actually explore, possibly limited spawn instance or public dungeon.
    - wolf insect hybrid thingy that nearly eats Nolan
    - cold-fire weapons
    - TOPHATS
anything else in the first episode that made you go hmm wonder why that never made it in-game

I have heard from multiple sources that we will be going to Defiance in a future patch. I also dont think that patch is that far down the road.

Also, they interviewed someone from Defiance (cant remember if it was TV show or Trion) but they said that while there will be integration between both, it is hard to write content that connects into both without knowing how long the TV show will be around, and without any game history.

Basically, he said that if the TV show gets renewed for season 2, there will be MUCH more tie ins between the game and the show. He said at that time they will have several months of gameplay history to tie in, as well as have much more flexibility on what to write into season 2.

Season 1 is already written, and was already written before the game came out. They cant change the script for actions that happened in the game, but the season 2 script has not yet been written, and they can write into it parts from the game that are happening right now.
