The info on Nim and Ara (Brother and sister) as well as Dark Matter will be found ingame (Cutsceens, Recorders, and info rewards).

You can read this for more info:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defianc...series)#Votans
Or you can search through the Game and TV show's websites to gather the rest info individually.

I assumed the cyborgs that walked up to attack was Dark Matter remnants.

Either way, the pilot was decent, but can't go as far as to say it was good. It was a bunch of forced one-liners, bad cgi and very badly created aliens. But as said previously in this thread, first season series often have these problems. If they are able to live past the first season, and especially past the second, the effects, acting and scripts tend to get better.

Not sure who wrote the script for the series, but the story for the main mission in-game was pretty well written, although still cheesy and predictable, it was good cheese at least. And had an awesome enemy (Nim).

Hmmmm....Tv Show vs Game: What do I think? Well, couldn't tell ya about the game, because I have not experienced it all, not once since I bought the damn thing and installed it on my computer. Nope, could not tell ya one bit about it or compare it with the TV show.

But I can tell you this, I like the show. I think it has promise. Good beginning characterizations I think. The drama is believable, the alien races are interesting, nice plot development, and I enjoyed the humorous moments. Good acting and scripting. It is enough for me to want to watch the next episode, and probably the next one after that.

But if I am still unable to play the game, I am not sure that I want to watch the show out of principle. Because, after all, the whole Defiance universe was billed as "Watch the show, play the game." I fell for the concept, which I liked, but now I am disappointed that I spent money on it.

minor story related matches and names.

Thw whoel design is off. The dark matter is completely different in weaponery and behavior. The bulwarks (i thin kthey were?) are in a completely different league. They use built in arm weapons and wear basically no helmets.

Even raiders ingame are glorified thieves with gas masks mainly - i saw basically no similarities in the series.
Also the series is around defiance - and according to some dev diary or such - there will be no towns ingame.

Not to mention their weapons are OP 1 hit.

Besides matching story parts and such its like a night and day.

We are i na different area, doign different stuff separate from the series - with some matching bitsy things.

Even cars seem to run on gasoline.

Arkfalls are a completely different league same with those hellbugs.

only feelign of being part of the stuff was some memories of episode missions, names. Thats it.

i dont see how people are linking ( Dark Matter / Volge ) together, completely two different things. Has anyone never played halo, or any game that threw multiple races into a Convenient if you will? They all arrived in similar ships would would think there military branch at that time would also be a collective force, so that would explain the use of similar heavy artillery used.

Besides didn't anyone notice Volge didn't wear masks, just helmets to protect themself from falling rocks... their pretty little faces were exposed the entire time, while Dark Matter uses fully inclosed helmets to protect that pale soft skin within those things.

I really like the game and hope more good ideas coming to keep up hype but I am not totally sure about the TV-Series. Ok this was the first episode and till now i would give a 7 out of 10.
But I will look the first 4-6 episodes then i can judge.

My wife & I quite enjoyed the show, she doesnt play the game, but i do. I did mainly the Eps. Missions and what not and I like what I am seeing. I say for their budget while with what they had for the game, I believe it will tie in nicely. It is just the 1st Episode. To me, it is suppose to make us wonder, and not give us what we would like to guess what will/shall/may happen. To me, I think we in game will reach defiance, and everything we do will lead up to it. Who knows, maybe something happens in game to why the ArkHunter from back in san francisco who helped them attain that crystal doesnt appear in the show for good reason. Hell, I mainly see more complaints than ppl trying to see what they may or might not be trying to accomplish here. Keeping it simple is not that bad, hell I am enjoying it.

Those in the TV show where Saberwolves not hellbugs.

I think the raiders are going to be more then raiders....... *Possible Spoilers?*

I think the Irathient raiders, are the Irathient that left the City of Defiance for currently unkown resons. According to the city's description, most of the Irathients left for the badlands that's the reason why you see so few in town, but at the end of the show you see the raiders in Defiance drinking so I think its going to be a plot device.
