How about Diablo3 recently. Lots of people had trouble jsut getting logged in, fixed first day. Wow had zone crashes so bad the first day that the servers went offline for about 2 hours and when they came up the crashes were gone. Everquest 2 had broken quests in the starting zone that you couldn't finish which was holding up progression for some races, fixed within first day. We could go on and on about
WoW is a very bad example to use, they were giving all kinds of free time for months after release because of all the problems they had, with all the down time, the falling through the world that still existed for a few years, the game crashing, bugged mobs that would constantly evade, and so on and so on. Even after a year from launch, I was still getting preiodic free time because of all the problems they were having.

Everquest also had all kinds of problems that needed to be fixed that took many months before the got fixed.

Every MMO has been released in what could be called Beta state, and pretty much stayed like that for at least a year or more. Yes they got things fixed on the first patch for release day, so did Defiance, but none of them got all the major stuff fixed in the first few hours.

in everquest, snakes kicked for 10 years.
Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.

My point was they patched things immediately. They didn't sit on a patch for weeks only to have it not actually fix anything.

Server issues yes expected, but actual gameplay issues and incomplete features? That stuffs not on.
agreed server stability and such is very common with mmos but the completely messed up features like the ongoing hatred of the voice chat system are not excusable.. i do believe Trion had no choice in releasing the game because they HAD to because of the show i would HOPE they given the choice they would have not released the game in the state they did...

And that it didn't fix even HALF of the issues the game is having. But fanboys will be fanboys, and I suppose the rest of us are out 60 bucks. It seems Trion really has a thing for unfinished products.

Did you miss the part where he said "that still existed for a few years"

Diablo 3 was not fixed the first day. It took them almost a week to get login issues straight... Let's not talk about the horrid server lag that was present for almost 2 weeks. Heck even today I still get unexplainable server lag from them on occasions.

So World of Warcraft didn't have realms down for days because the issues were so bad? Heck I remember after WoLK their servers being offline for almost a day and some. Sure they refunded people time they lost, but WoLK was years after release. They shouldn't have those kind of issues anymore.

Now are somethings fixed within hours? Sure, but my point wasn't the time frame. Because some are fixed within hours. Most aren't. Most take weeks to fix and fix properly. I just wanted to see what you thought were reputable games. That was all.

Look at this section right here

    http://forums.defiance.com/forumdisp...ive&order=desc

Read each and every one of those thread. You will see they have been fixing things both on server and client side since they have launched the game, even on the same day they launched the game, actually nearly everyday since they launched the game they have been fixing things.
