Is there really a huge difference between weapons / colors? Are my Mods messed up?

I have a few orange weapons and while there is no doubt they are good I can't say they are leaps and bounds better then any other color.

What is the gap between colors? I can't say I notice too much. Anyone agree?

If I sound crazy then help me out. Maybe I'm not modding my gear right or something. What do you look for in Mods?

The truth of the matter is that I doubt you will ever really see a "huge" difference in weapons. This game has been about skill over gear since day 1 and I personally believe that it makes this game a nice change from the gear grinding of past MMOs. (Not saying that you are complaining though) From what I have seen the differences in the weapon colors is, given mod slots, bonuses, synergy. The better the quality the more of those you will get.
