Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.
Don't forget Eureka (and possibly Battlestar G). That show was awesome and it still got cancelled. SciFi does tend to kill the good shows and leave the crap ones (like the ghost hunters crap) on. I'm still really upset they cancelled any of the Stargate shows and Sanctuary. I don't necessarily miss Alphas (it was good in the beginning, but then kinda went downhill)
Do people just not understand that those were very good numbers for SyFy? The network execs are probably still squealing like little girls. Their new show, which already has sponsorship from a major corporation, just hit numbers on a par with the best of their programming in ages. It's all scotch and gummy bears for them, they're not looking for an excuse to sharpen the axe.
Just to recap: best premiere for SyFy's target audience since Eureka, which, yes, was eventually cancelled... after FIVE seasons, which is enough to put it into syndication and a longer run than many non-scifi shows on other networks.
Best total audience numbers for a SyFy premiere since Warehouse 13, which has not been cancelled and is starting its fourth season next week and is paired with Defiance in the schedule.
I think I might wait to see what the numbers are for the second episode, but please, the fact that some other series didn't run until everyone on the cast died is probably not a reason for pessimism just yet.
Going to stop you right there, Stargate Atlantis was not SyFy's fault that was all MGM and their pigheadedness they refused to release the rights on the already completed script for the Extinction movie and the producers themselves scrapped SGA so they could make SGU
Sanctuary was not cancelled it was finished
I don't know about the other two but I heard that Caprica was a failure
V was disgusting though there was 0 reason for cancellation it was greed simply over 5 million viewers and they only needed another season to finish it.
There is a balance with quality and budget. You put too much budget in it, the show will probably be moderately successful, yet not enough to be profitable. Seeing as Defiance apparently has the biggest budget on SyFy and the lukewarm reception the pilot got (2.7 mil. viewers) I would not be so sure that the show will see more than two seasons. Trion might have to pump some money into the show to keep the whole Defiance boat afloat.

Hey there Mister Madman, what'cha know that I don't know
Tell me some crazy stories, let me know who runs this show
Pretty much every show gets canceled eventually. Eureka ran for 5 seasons; that's a pretty good run. Someone is bashing SyFy for canceling 'anything Stargate' but SG-1 ran for 10 years, Atlantis for 5. I'll give you SG-U. BSG ran 5 seasons, right? Warehouse 13 is on its 4 or so, I think Haven is too.
SyFy is one of the MOST 'patient' networks on TV.
When the world goes to shtako, someone has to clean it up.
Stargate SG-1 = 10
Stargate Atlantis = 5 (would have preferred 7 then we wouldn't have had the BSG knock off of SGU)
Sanctuary is over unless they 'revived' the plot
