Visually, yes, you can change the shot to make it work, that's not the issue, it's the voice-overs that could potentially change dramatically, because now the dialog would need to differentiate between solo and a group, and could also change any sense of personalization.. I'm no longer the nameless ark-hunter dealing with this, I'm part of a team. Comes down to scripting.

Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.

It doesnt have to. Like I said, the game already handles multiple players being grouped for all cutscenes except those handful of times theres a solo dungeon. There is literally no narrative reason to separate the player at this point, that wouldnt apply everywhere else in the game.

To keep it consistent, it would. How many ark hunters were on the stratocarrier? As far as I'm concerned, it was just me, and there's a lot of others in my area. In order to keep the story "strong", it would need to address the fact that you're bringing friends along, otherwise everyone's just hearing "Hey, ark hunter, you did a great job killing that guy" when it was multiple people, and you may have done nothing. It's a minor thing, but when you have a narrative that is in some way (no matter how small) with another main story, especially when you're dealing with a writing team, they may want it done a certain way, which may not translate well from one media type to another. When you write for TV, the assumption is that the audience is one person, "you", if you break the 4th wall. Games inherently do this, the attempt is to draw you in, personally.

No the cutscenes are completely unchanged. You only see yourself in the scene. But you're still grouped gameplay wise.
Lets use Episode 1 as an example. You can play the entire thing grouped except that one dungeon in the middle. Every time theres a cutscene with Nolan/Iressa you see yourself in the scene. Your partner sees themselves instead of you But you're still grouped, and did all objectives together. This includes cutscenes that happen in the middle of combat.
The point being is there is no narrative reason for separating the group for the solo dungeon part. It could be handled exactly like every other part of that storyline. There might be a gameplay reason for the separation, but not a cutscene reason.
Agreed, it didn't even phase me until I hit a boss I wanted some help with. But since apparently everyone can beat all the story missions in an afternoon, they don't need help anyway.
I think if someone rushed their way to Nim in under 10 hours and beat him and then are wondering how they will deal with all the insufferable boredom of the game ... just stop. Sell the game on eBay. You're never going to be happy with the title, it isn't your gig, get something out of it. It's like the show Lost - if you hate it after three episodes, just leave. You're always going to hate it.
But if you've spent 30, 40, 50 hours on the game and you're just tired of grinding away on Arkfalls - just give Trion time. For this genre, there are no subs and it is not play to win and since it isn't crazy loot based you don't even have to worry about the fact that the whole world will be sooo much more powerful than you. You've already clocked the time for the money, and it won't cost you a cent to wait. Except for some patience, which apparently is in amazingly short supply with some gamers.

however, there are reasons to adjust the cutscene based on there being a group versus alone, aside from grammar, depending on how deeply you present the story.
