They are always going to be asking for money. YOU might grind the game for free after the initial purchase, but the rest of us want good content and a solid game.

Lockboxes are sold in the cash shop. Also if they want to sell us the DLC they better have something we want to buy.

Love how you totally lost your composure btw. Something must be ringing true.

It was until now they finally corrected the appropriate reward for said emergencies, but because people noticed it was corrected they think it was nerfed. I hope some of you understand this and see this is how it was supposed to be.
Or it could also be just a PR attempt of convincing people that it was not intended to work this way.
They see us getting more codes than they anticipated, they get scared their shop will not bring enough cash due to that fact and they fabricate some excuse of "we never intended for you to get so many codes so easily in the first place". Well duh, of course they would prefer to see their cash shop bringing in more revenue, but is this the way to do it?

after patch & changes added still love the game. I'll just keep driven n not save anybody.

80 scrip reward? No thanks. Keep on munchin hell bugs I'll come back when you either can drop a decent weapon or give up the keys.

Hulking Raider dude? Keep the peace brother and rage on buddy I'll watch from the side lines and wait every 30mins for an ark fall.

*ill always help res players just see no point to the random emergency spawns anymore.

I think it depends on the kind of grind. Ultima Online back in 1997 didn't have much, but it was more or less a sandbox that let you do whatever you wanted. EQ, a year or two later, was grind-y, but it had a clear progression path, so the grind didn't feel so pointless because you did it to reach a goal, so you'd reach milestones often and feel rewarded. I also don't mind farming in, say, Borderlands 2, because I usually do it for a very specific piece of gear.

In Defiance, you grind for resources or keys, which then allow you to enter a lottery for gear, but there is nothing you can do to improve your chances to get the actual type of item you want. This is what makes grinding for keys a bit tedious for me. It's just so vague and there is no real variety because you always grind for the same things in the same places. More specific lockboxes would help (say, stuff like "T2 - ARs", "T2 - Shotguns", "T2 - Shields", etc.), and it would still take time to actually get something you want.

Differently put, I'm fine with grinding and farming for specific rewards, but open-ended grinding feels overwhelming to me.

So because something is sold on the cash shop, you have to buy it? According to you, there are many "alternatives" so why don't you hop off instead of crying like a baby that everything in a persistent online game isn't handed out to you for simply participating?

You should stick to singleplayer games where you can use cheat codes to get everything at startup. That's the game you want to play for 20minutes, then rant that it's boring.

I already wasted $60 on a lie so good luck getting another dime out of me. And I know I'm not alone. Week 2 and you ***** get greedy? You dont even have a complete game and you already want more money from me? Good thing the show is good, cause thats all that will be left when the dust settles and word gets out about this garbage.

I don't mind grinding for loot, what I do mind is grinding for a roll of the dice. Well actually a roll of a dice has better odds at giving something I want There are other things they should of fixed to coincide with this,

    1. the drop rate in the lockboxes as grinding for hours on end, only to end up getting loot that drops off mobs in some cases needs fixing.
    2. make the lockboxes have value at different prices for getting them, as it stands tier 4 is a waste of keys tbh
    3. make the mod cache more relevant, it shouldn't be just dropping brutal and run' n 'gun, and then your odds are cut even more due to the fact you have to get the right weapon type and the right mod slot for yourself.

Also as it stands, grinding hardly seems worthwhile with the weapon system imo, maybe if they fix mod caches then it might be worth it, but as it stands the loot is hardly worth shouting about. I have an orange weapon yeah, oh but it has a assassin mod, oh wait I can't mod it

something tells me this guy hasnt played a true mmo in ever killing a few things in a coop mission that takes maybe 15 minutes is way easier than doing the same raid that takes well over an hour to complete 40 times over a course of 13 weeks just for one damn weapon

The standard run of the mill F2P games work exactly as what he is saying!

They make the game easy in the early Levels, to make you addicted to the game and then ramp up gradually to force you into the cashshop to make Your gameplay fun again.

TRION is doing an excellent job here to at that, by building these same psychological annoyances in the game.

    - Salvaging is a cumbersome and time consuming clickfest. Only one item at a time.
    - Buying keycodes at the vendor is cumbersome and time consuming. Only one key per time and the Field keeps jumping randomly through the list after each purchase.
    - Two weeks ago they all out blanket nerfed loot drops across the game (including arkfalls) and now they removed keycodes from mini events.

All these little annoyances start to add up and done on purpose, in an attempt to "entice" you towards the cash shop and buy Lock boxes With "real" Money. Which is ofcourse a breeze and smooth experience. They made sure of that!

This psychological stuff is plenty written about in many F2P concept documents and why they thrive so well raking in lots of cash.
Hence, why I absolutely loath F2P games and their bussiness practices feeding on people's weaknesses and addiction!!

I Guess I am just naive in thinking (after their game RIFT) that TRION had higher morale standards and wouldn't resort to these kind of bussiness practices With their games.

But I was sadly mistaken seeing the outrageous prices in the Cash shop for simple "recoloured" cosmetic items and stuffing all good loot in Lock boxes and make it a lottery fest.
