How is spending real life money for a box of random guns winning? I mean at best you get a Legendary weapon, but you aren't ahead of the pack by any means. Most real "pay to win" games are fashioned so you spend money on actual in-game OP items which give you this advantage over players who just play without paying. Hey I got a legendary beast mode LMG from a tier 2 lock box from the keycodes I got from arkfalls and stuff. I haven't even paid a dime extra from purchasing the game itself.
If you play the game like you're meant to then you'll get a healthy flow of keycodes and you'll get some good stuff.
Well, I'm sure he's assuming the OP is bad at the game because instead of finding new ways to get Keycodes, he is flaming up about how the random events used to drop so much with VERY minimal effort. I mean, I could sit next to the event and do literally nothing but bump one bug and get 3-5 Keycodes. How is that fun?

I personally agree with both sides but here is my take on the key code situation.
firstly I haven't been farming the key codes from the road missions.
I will normally be on my way to a main or side mission
and will stop off on these along the way to pick up a few extra key codes.
I miss being able to pick up the extra codes here and there and feel that now they have been removed from these missions it's kind of rendered them pointless.
I mean now I cant even be bothered with the road missions
because I know I will get nothing in return for doing them.
so whats the point of them now?
I do also agree with other members though that there are other ways of obtaining key codes
but I do think that they should have just dropped the reward to a lower amount rather than just remove them all together.
Just breakdown weapons and buy them with salvage.
Its crazy with the Trion boost at the moment how high the drop rate is. You can average a keycode every random event (save medics, destroy hellbug mound, look at truck etc) just by breaking down the 2-3 items you loot.
It's even more if you are in a clan with an active item boost.
I'm fairly sure you can still farm keycodes by showing up at the start of an arkfall, shoot at a few of the enemies, and then go do something else. Early this AM, I and two other people wrapped up a minor arkfall, but magically there were at least 10 names in the list at the end. I know they got stuff out of it because I earned a couple of grenades earlier while busy emptying my inventory rather than attending the final fight on a Major Arkfall.
I will miss all the XP and stuff that came from running over one bug as I drove around, but I can live with that. I just wonder if standing in front of the Iron Demon Ranch while I make dinner in the real world will still get me XP from all the stuff going on at the intersection? Worked fine the other day...
I hope Trion "fixes" or did kind of nerf this thing where people kill one hellbug in an Arkfall and leave, still collecting like 6000 experience. They should make you stay for atleast like 5 minutes or something to collect the experience.
But the other side I guess is that it isn't hurting anyone, there are a ton of "levels" and I'd imagine Trion raises the Ego cap with each DLC *shrug*
Not to mention you can buy the things for only a 1000 a piece, which you can break down to crap weapons for. I am getting tired of these whiny #@!%s!
