so we get extra ego levels from the patch from things we level'd up but didnt get the raise before the patch.. where are the ego upgrades? does this mean when we reach 5000 we will be just under the ammount to complete the grid?

Ego levels =/= ego upgrades. The only time you get ego upgrades (points to spend on the grid) is by filling the XP bar on the bottom of the screen.

You get an ego point for maxing your EXP bar, not by levelling weapons or completing pursuits.
You got those ego levels for your vehicle weapons, as they weren't awarding as intended, so you should not have gotten ego points for this. Also, there's about twelve other threads where this exact question and answer are stated. Try looking next time.
this would of happernd if we leveld up after the patch though right?

Before the patch I was EGO rating 683 - login today and I'm 751. The 68 point increase matches what I would expect with a 4 pt increase for each vehicle skill I've increased (Runners 12 & Rollers 7 for 17 increases in skill from level 1: 17x4=68).
However, I did not gain any EGO points for this 68 pt increase in EGO.

yeah i had bout 130 extra ego when i logged in...no idea where it came from...my smg is gone with an empty spot in its place lol and all of my weapon skills have bout 2 more lvls and my vehicle skills have about 4 extra lvls...
Ego Rating =/= Level
You get 10 Egorating and 1 Ego-Perk-Point for a level up.
You can get Egorating by other means for example persuits or weapon/vehicle skills.
Ego-Perk-Points however are only obtainable by filling your experience bar.
