Any disadvantages to just shutting of my Xbox?

I just shut off my xbox when I'm done with a quest or some other event. Is there any disadvantages to that? Are there areas you shold go before you logout to get rest xp?

Defiance is constantly saving everything you do. Be it an item you pick up, a quest you complete, or any other action. As far as the rest xp goes, I don't believe Defiance has that feature.

    Hope this helped!

What everyone else said, but I have the old habit from past MMOs where-in I log out before exiting the game. As such, I fast travel to a major town and log out from the menu wheel. But, that's just for my OCD-ness. I have yet to see anything bad happen for just shutting down.

I know in some MMOs if you don't log out properly there might be some time between when your client is shut down and when the server realizes you're gone, so your character will still be standing around in the world a while after you shut down. Which could lead to logging in to find your character was killed in that minute or so. Not sure if that applies to Defiance, though.
