You can actually just go into the menu and bring up the EGO ring, and logout will be in the upper left corner, and Exit Game will be in the upper right corner.

It is, quite frankly, the worst UI I've ever dealt with... not just non-intuitive, but outright confusing.
Unfortunately, the entry-level area doesn't teach players how to effectively work within the UI design. From a business perspective, the UI design is more likely to drive away players than anything else in the game, so I really don't understand how Trion could be so stupid as to allow the state of the UI to continue.
type /quit or /logout in chat, fastest way/(gives you a "are you sure" warning also
might be /exit or something also, cant remember, type /? to get all shortcuts
I use F6 -> Exit Game
