    how Many PS3 players

I'm wondering how many PS3 players will we have? Also how many would we need in order to sustain a 'healthy' community; now this is all in a vacuum but judging by these forums more Xbox players will be playing on line by far. I'm concerned that there simply wont be enough PS3 players to even call this an 'mmo' on the PS3. I hope not, but I'm not seeing much advertisement on PS3 so that is a concern.

If you go by the current pre-order totals in North America PS3 will be last in total sales, but not by that much.
Unfortunately, all of the pre-order sales numbers seem low to me but, what do I know.
    XBOX - 28k
    PC - 24K
    PS3 - 21K

AS USUAL, XBOX users are once again making way more noise than everyone else.

I've been a PS3 DCUO player since the beta, and TRUST me there WILL be players on this game! Even after 2+ years of being online and PS3's first MMO, the severs still are populated with thousands of people at any given point in time, day or night. What further reinforces my belief of a "healthy" community is ALOT of the chatter I hear on DCUO, wanting a different MMO to play.

This chatter is mainly because DCUO has gotten stale, due to a 14 month lack of New tiers of armor for pve, or actual new end game raids, and not the recycled crap they have gave us since near launch. Ohhhh this USED to a a duo for 2 players. NOW its "brand new" and 4 people can play the instance at once.. ohhhh.. /sarcasm lol

I played DCUO from day one; until they combind the servers it was very dead for a while. The same 20-30 people playing On Justice. DCUO was a nice nitch game but after going 1-30 the game got grindy.. grind for T1's, grind the same instances for T2's and etc..

I'm just hoping this doesnt turn into DCUO/TSW where '1-30' is fun but the 'end game' is simply running the same instances but only on hard, harder and nightmare mode for blue->purple->X color gear

I'm going with the developers comments about a constantly evolving story structure due to DLC and interaction through the events of the TV series. I think this will keep things active and fresh. And Trion has a good history with Rift, so even if the series itself tanks, this game is wide open for growth on its own.

And, hey, given the "mythology" behind the story, if things get boring, they could cause a massive terraspike event that could basically reinvent the creatures, landscape, story, objectives...in effect, create a whole new game that would still be Defiance.
If at first you don't succeed, reload and shoot again.--advice from a crazy but much-loved uncle.

Not to mention those are just pre-order stats. There's plenty of people who'll buy the game after its release along with a lot more down the line.

Wow nice you have gained since the last I heard... Good luck in breaking the 100 mark before the release date. Which I would imagine shouldn't be too hard with the long beta.
