Such as Dark Matter and any mini events in San Fran I got zero keys prior to the patch.

Most raider events I got no keys prior to the patch, most 99er events I got no keys prior to the patch. The only events I seemed to get keys with consistently was the hellbug events.
A dev has already responded that removing keys from mini events was an intended change, which they conviniently left out of the patchnotes.

The only way to get keycodes now is via CO-OP and Arkfalls (and salvaging).

All of this is pure opinion. And it seems those who don't agree with the majorities opinion, has nothing but the simple "stop whining" approach in an attempt to quell those who would like to discuss the matter. I prefer that people who have nothing positive to offer to the discussion stay out of the conversation, which I know is negative in nature, but it doesn't mean you have to stick up for a game company like a dog that is loyal purely because it got to hump their leg for a few seconds at a time. No, roadside missions do not offer any KEY rewards. And resources aren't TOO hard to come by, but honestly the weapons I get from any lockboxes have ZERO mods slots. So that's where my resources go. And burning through guns in an attempt to level up my weapon skills so I can get pursuits and more efficiently use my weapons doesn't help that.. It's a shooter, people will always be on the hunt for the best gun that suits their playstyle. And Trion knows this, hence the patches to make it harder for people to weapon grind, with no price reduction on store items.
Hoping for the best, so I can do my worst.

you happen to have the link where a dev said they removed keys from mini events, I know for a fact earlier tonight around 8 p.m est I was still getting them from hellbugs, did a few other events, but like I said, they were never huge on giving keys anyway.

    Well said!

    Exactly how I feel.

People seem to focus on the amount of keys one can get per hour. But completely forget about the terrible drop chance of Lock boxes itself!
It's not like you get a guaranteed good weapon per lockbox. If that were the case, then I would agree. But the drop chance in Lock boxes is so ridiculously low, it would make the average Las Vegas Casino or any lottery for that matter, proud!

I have opened about 20 T3 Lock boxes so far (and a small number of T2) and only gotten green useless crap (which you can get straight from vendors already /facepalm)!
That is over 480 keys on T3 Lock boxes alone and not a single piece of decent loot!

And that is what pisses me off (and many others) With restricting keys to Arkfalls and CO-OP only now!
They just keep turning this game in a horrible grindfest! Squeezing out the fun more and more.

so long as the conversation can be held in an adult manner i concur. However, the majority of the "stop whining" approach is because day in, day out, it's literally the same "im quitting unless gimme gimme gimme", and frankly, if i had children and they behaved like that, bet your *** i'd be whipping theirs. when the devs ask us players whats wrong, they want to hear "section a's option b is bugged, and here is what happens", not "your ****'s broke and you suck". THAT doesn't solve anything, in the slightest, hence the "quit whining" approach. because that isn't communication, it's *****ing.

Now you realize key fragments should not have been taken out of the game as they played a pivotal role in making emergencies something worth doing. 8 key fragments = 1 keycode, and the idea was that emergencies, certainly mobs (elites), and missions were supposed to drop these fragments to make the keycode grind more palatable. Ever since their removal it's left a gap between grinding keycodes and purchasing them.

If you stopped complaining for a moment and tried some emergencies and basic missions you would notice that drops of whites and greens seem to have gone through the roof, meaning that by salvaging you will end up with your precious keys in no time.

Don't forget though, we currently have double loot on thanks to the bonus. So you have to cut those drops in half to compensate for the state of the game after the bonuses run out.

no more idiotic and foolish than yours. and by your post count i wouldnt take you for a forum newbie. the way it works is people make threads to voice opinions/ state facts and discuss them. as he is entitled to voice his opinion, so am i. but his post would have people belive that trion is doing something that they simply are not. they are not gearing this game to pay-to-win. since launch they have done nothing of the sort. it is my right as a forum user/ gamer of defiance to defend the game i consider fun from people bashing it with foolish, ridiculous, false, and idiotic statements...that is all
