like ^^^ said, I have the points sitting on my account, just waiting for me to press the button. The first content they roll out will decide it for me. I'm not making the same mistake I made with Borderlands picking up a season pass that had a bunch of cheap cash in content.

Of course everyone will get the same content, it's part of the world. Doesn't mean they'll be able to access the new content or gain anything from it.

I somehow doubt the season pass for this game will be put on sale anytime soon. Especially with next gen systems right around the corner.
Are you ignorant or just blind? What do you think is inside those Lockboxes they sell in their store for $$$! Rofl. My friend has already bought like $100 worth of bits, opened like 30+ T3 lockboxes and is already wearing full orange weapons/shield/grenades with prefect stats, all from lockboxes! Literally not a single piece of gear hes gotten from playing the actual games. He is only Ego lvl 260 and places tops in the scoreboard in every arkfall, co-op mission and pvp match. So please dont come in here spouting that this game is not pay to win when it so obviously is. Too bad your rampant fanboism is preventing you from seeing it. ANY game that sells LOOT for real life money is PAY TO WIN no matter how cleverly they try to disguise it (cough LOCKBOXES cough)
No. OP is talking about the direction in which the devs are taking this game, which he believes is the "pay to win" direction. That's what Jardian was responding to, and very well I might add.
your buddy wasted his cash, he would have had the same chance if he actually played the games, earned those keys and bought the boxes that way. He wasted 100 dollars buying content he could have earned in the game.... Also at level 260 he wasted those weapons, higher level would have netted him far better bonuses on those orange weapons.
I spent €70 on the Deluxe edition and around €30 on the cash store (an outfit, inventory space, a roller, with 1200 or so bits leftover). I feel that it's now Trion's turn to polish the game and improve their customer support before I'm handing them more money, so I haven't bought the Season Pass. I'm not entirely happy with the game right now, especially in terms of lasting appeal, so this is as far as my support goes for the moment. Keeping some money on the table isn't necessarily a bad idea.
Logically, if the developers are really going for pay to win, wouldn't it make MORE sense to buy the DLCs because they are sure to include the +11 Vorpal Blade of Epic Awesomeness (deals 9001 melee damage per hit) as DLCs exclusive content?
I think we are on the same side in that we don't believe Trion is making the game a pay2win game. I have played over 2000 hours of Diablo 3: the AH tycoon simulator and have a 5Billion gold character and earned about $400+ USD (of which I used some to pay for defiance). That game is pay2win. Defiance is not.
