That truck was available in beta and in the store in alpha for cash in a number of colors, so be patient they will add it back soon I am sure. They already said in a dev chat that the vehicles that are in are not nearly all there will even be.

Literally not a single piece of gear hes gotten from playing the actual games. He is only Ego lvl 260 and places tops in the scoreboard in every arkfall, co-op mission and pvp match. So please dont come in here spouting that this game is not pay to win when it so obviously is. Too bad your rampant fanboism is preventing you from seeing it. ANY game that sells LOOT for real life money is PAY TO WIN no matter how cleverly they try to disguise it (cough LOCKBOXES cough)
And I can buy every outfit in the game, be top of scoreboard, and jump to conclusion saying the cash shop outfit have hidden bonuses. Doesn't mean it's true.
I'm already top of scoreboard in every coop (except when I'm lvling useless gun like BMG and injectors), and usually top 3-5 in every arkfall. And I didn't spend anything in the cash shop.

Oh, and I have 2 orange from "free" lockbox.

Anyway, to the reason for this post. When I first learned of this key code reduction, I was slightly concerned. My immediate thought was, as many would agree, Trion are forcing a "pay-to-win" scenario. But, instead of jumping into the forum and blowing my top, I looked into what has happened. And this is what I've found:
    • Ambient/dynamic missions don't seem to hand out keycodes anymore
    • Some contracts/persuits now give keycodes - I've seen two persuits that reward with 8 keycodes!
    • I have found no other changes that would "force" one to pay real world money to succeed with this game

So, my next reaction was a concern on how I would now earn keycodes to purchase synergy mod caches and tiered lock boxes. But then I remembered I can pay for keycodes using ark salvage.
You can also repeat the story quests which give a random item (so far I have gotten quality green, mostly blues, and a single purple..), Xp, script, and even though the reward doesn't say it, I seem to randomly get keycodes when I complete them.

The $60 I already paid for the season pass for DLCs for me and my brother does not appear to be good investment as apparently everyone with the base game gets all the new content for free. For those of us who paid, we will probably get a different colored hat or something.
It the hat is hot pink, then it was a wise purchase

That's what I said about Borderlands 2. I was like, "Man I loved the first game, it was so amazing, most of the DLC was pretty good, except for Moxxi's arena, but one crap shooter out of the bunch isn't a big deal"

Then the DLC started to roll out starting with Scarlett..... WTF is this garbage, it took me 5 1/2 hours to beat on the hardest difficulty setting, has zero replay ability and 24 hour lock out timer on the two bosses.

Torgue came out, I guess they are moving the right direction, took me about 6 hours and at least the humor was better. I guess I can chalk this one up as a decent enough experience. Nothing really new added outside of using tokens to purchase level 48 gear when you were level 50... .??? doesn't make sense... didn't to me either

Hammerlocks rolled out.... seriously, I beat this content in 2 hours, it stretched to 3 hours due to having rare mob spawns you had to kill, which had one really glitch mob. it again added nothing to the game had zero replay ability and the humor was all over.

No level cap increases, no inventory increases, outside of pink weapons which were far worse than orange weapons no new weapon types. All mobs in all three were just reskins. Gearbox even took to hocking overpriced costume options. With the season pass they took me from being a supporter of the company to an angry, cheated gamer.

It didn't help the head of the company promised the content would be one thing and all of them together didn't equal what we were promised. They even outsourced all the DLC and didn't bother to mention it until later on. Lied about inventory size, lied about level caps, and just generally acted shady.

I hope for the best with Trion but due to BL's 2 and Guardians of middle earth, season passes need to earn my money.

So, my next reaction was a concern on how I would now earn keycodes to purchase synergy mod caches and tiered lock boxes. But then I remembered I can pay for keycodes using ark salvage. Here is an example from last night after the patch:

I completed four ambient missions. On one of them, a raider camp, I was rewarded with four item drops - 2 green and 2 white. Two other missions dropped two items and the last one dropped one item. That amounts to a mean average of 2.25 per mission. Let's be "glass is half empty" about this and round down to the nearest whole number, so that's 2 item drops per mission. If we assume that's one white and one green, that gives us a total of 750 ark salvage. With other random ark salvage drops, that means 10 missions will get you a tier two lock box. That's not including any key codes you pick up from co-op, contracts, pursuits, side missions, main missions and ark falls. Let's assume you do four ambient missions and an ark fall; 3 keycodes from ambient missions (ark salvage used to buy keycodes) and 5 from an arkfall. There is your tier 2 lock box.

Having considered it carefully, and from what I can remember, I had to do five or six ambient missions to earn 8 keycodes.

The way I see it, there isn't much more to do. Yes, you end up using precious ark salvage. But if the game was easy, it wouldn't be so addictive.

My only problem, for want of a better word, is the weights on which rarity you get isn't quite right. I have opened a lot of lock boxes and not received any oranges.

That's my thoughts anyway. It'll fall on deaf ears because most of you complainers just want to complain for the sake of it. You're looking for a war to join and this is it.
Agreed here, it is still just as easy to obtain the keys and i also agree about the lockboxes although i am not really complaining as i do love a challenge but i have opened approx 15 tier 4 boxes and about 5 tier 2 and never have gotten more than a blue from it.
Out of all the items i got from the lockboxes i kept 2 items just so i could level them up then salvage them once i was done with them My mission rewards and arkfalls always yield better results.

Actually it's on sale at GMG right now (only for a couple more days though):

If you use this voucher, it costs $22.40. That's around 44% off.

It's "normal" for most gaming forums, especially those with multiplayer aspects. I think it's also the shooter genre. People like to claim that shooters have no impact on still developing personalities, but I don't subscribe to that. All the adrenaline that lacks a physical outlet. Age probably plays a role, as does the relative anonymity and the lack of consequences and visual feedback (no one will punch you and you won't see it in someone's face if you hurt them), though I don't think it's the kids.

It's more common behavior for males in the 16-24'ish age group. The time when you're stuck between being a boy and a man and try to somehow fit in and prove yourself, and when saving face is of utter importance (I make myself a target here, but like you, I mean no offense to anyone and I obviously went through the same phase too, some two decades ago -- and I may be completely off with these observations).

Mostly, though, I think it's a matter of social dynamics. Someone gets personal and others join in, and then it's just social ping-pong of passive-aggressive, or even plainly aggressive, behavior. Heck, I'm not a young male and I even work in the community/social field, and I can't always make myself free from the effects of exposure to the nastiness and polemic here, and then also start to snap or turn cynical. Must be even harder to resist when you're brimful of testosterone. I think the best approach is probably more strict moderation, for both the negative trolls and the reverse trolls (same thing, different sides).

    Anyway, bit off-topic, sorry.

Here the thing no one seems to get. This game isn't a subscription based game. You want content and time invested in developing the game and keeping the servers running. You have to support it. I want to see the game keep going as it is by far the most unique console game to come out. I get to run around a large open world with my friends, in a world larger then the one in red dead with a ton more things to do. Complete the story with friends or solo. Its not a grind fest because the lateral progression system when the only thing that gets better are the weapons innate bonuses. No need to grind gear if you really dont want to. Your not forced to to see the end game like ever other mmo. You want to see the content your paying for better plan to invest countless hours grinding to get it done.

I've bought outfits and inventory space as the lock boxes are rather pointless to buy. The weapon ya can get out of them aren't worth the money required.

If you dont want to see the game stop being supported or for the game company try to increase the revenue and it truely become a pay to win where you get one hitter quiter weapon out the store for 30$ then pony up 5$ from time to time.

Season passes for a game like this gives the company a good idea of how much time and $$ they can put into the game.

Same people in this thread saying im not paying for this or that or im not buying an outfit are the same people who will be on the forums whining about lack of content in dlc and updates you want Trion to show support for the game you as the fan/consumer have to give them a reason to do so. You show no support it will be reflected in how much content will be developed for this game.

No company will throw money down the drain on a game where the fan base doesn't support it.
Won't buy a dlc season pass for an mmo, but you throw 50$ at cod for a handfull of maps you'll be sick of in a month....then whine about lack of support or content.
I would step over your still bleeding corpse for my morning coffee!
