I've played some... and so what if they kill that NPC. Would anyone here honestly go and demand the removal of the said NPC because you killed it. By that logic, the bosses in those MMOs you mentioned should never reset cause, you know, they got killed.

I can understand this mentality in a game like Lord of the Rings Online where the story is set in stone and if an important character dies anywhere else than where and when he's supposed to, that would indeed be an issue. But this is not the case, from what I was led to believe, was I wrong?

I personally believe they are staying away from Defiance the town is simply because the game and the show are meant to be two different entities in the same world. Each has their own story that effects each other a bit here and there. The reason that we are not running around Defiance is because its not realistic for the story of the show. How would the show explain hey there's a million arc hunters running around Defiance but you can't see them. They are just trying to be realistic with the set up. We might visit Defiance in the future but I'm willing to be it will only be a Co-op, or solo mission set in the episode mission format.

Did I miss some new information about the cross over. Because if I didn't I have no idea what any of you are talking about. They have already stated that the second season of the show is when they will begin affecting each other. (The first season of the show has already been filmed) And so what if killing a character in game doesn't make them die in the show. If the plan is to not have the game kill anyone, GUESS WHAT. You WONT get the option to kill them. And vise versa of course.

Note that the "Battle of Defiance" took place in San Fran. St. Louis was renamed Defiance to honor that battle. As mentioned above, filming for season 1 is complete and we can expect the show to affect the game, season 2 the game will start affecting the show and there was mention of possibly having a contest to put a gamer in the show at some point.

This is the answer. They flat out said this during one of the Q&A panels that had both game and show developers (and cast) on it. They didn't want players to wonder why they couldn't just go kill characters/villains in the show. They need to keep us distanced so they can better control the story.

Correct me If im wrong, but if you draw a line from SF to StL you would go right through Nevada.. (badlands..desert) on that route.

    there is 5 states and 5 dlc's..

Started in SF Travelling east to Nevada desert (badlands) then Utah, Colorado, Kansas and finallly ending up in Missouri as the 5th and final DLC.

This would mean each DLC takes place in a new state. all travelling on a pretty straight eastward line.

(assuming thats the way it's headed)

Have you read any of the rest of the forums, or the demands?

I have absolutely no doubt we would have quite a few people being vocal about how they killed so-and-so so it's crap they are still alive in the show. Not everyone mind you, but forums always seem to have a very vocal minority.

Northern Nevada (Tahoe / Reno) is on a line from SF to SL. Las Vegas is many miles to the south of Reno, but it's not too far off the track.

The short answer to this is quite simple. If the show tanks it dont effect the game.
