Nahh... since yesterdays patch I have ZERO motivation anymore to log into the game. It has just become a combination of a terrible grindfest + Lottery gambling.

If I wanted that, I can go play the run of the mill F2P games out there without having to pay 60 bucks upfront for the Box + extra for DLC!
At least those f2p games have some kind of challenging group content too, what I dont understand is why people are even bothering to get legendary items. Theres no actual need for it unless you find this game too difficult without them?

the gameplay and most of the mechanics are yes ill agree, but the lockbox drop ratio especially for people who pay good money is really.... well just plain garbage
Sorry dude, I should have used some kind of sarcasm font. The latest patch is an insult to the players that stuck with the game in anticipation of the 'new content' on the airing of the tv show.

It really is a shame when good games like this go the way of the dodo because of poor decisions passed through the corporate ladder.
what they should do, in order to make money, is seperate the drop chances of the ingame lockboxes from the cash shop ones, give them their own drop rate, not a huge difference but enough to where the people who spend their hard earned money on the game can at least get a 2-5% increase or something

Without any kind of trading in this game except for coming to the forums, the lockboxes imo should be split down further to item types. Buy an AR lockbox and get a bundle of AR's at varying quality.

thats also a very good idea, theyd probably make even more of a killing for people who look for orange shotguns etc

It's just an outright shame TRION has lowered themselves to these kind of Money grabbing and Nickle&Diming practices!

ArenaNet has the B2P model too With both Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 and the Company is doing fine financialy!
The only thing you pay for is the initial Box price + expansions.
The cash shop only contains cosmetics and game account services, like rename, transfer, etc.
The entire game is open like the normal P2P MMO! No hiding all good loot in Lock boxes and terrible loot tables in the game With horrible drop rates and all that crap!

TRION should really have a good look at themselves and how they are running this game into the ground, all because of following the "quick Cash&Grab" philosophy and see how long the game will last!

a good look into dye's wouldnt be a bad thing either, some originality among the crowd would be wonderful instead of everyone looking the same with the same armor color etc

Let me begin by stating Not a Troll, but I disagree with your stance. You state just because you can pay $$$ for the lock boxes that should entitle you to an 'easier' play experience via purple and orange loot. I call that silly (using nice words). I ,for one, am only currently around EGO 345 and have yet to finish the game ( I am playing through and enjoying myself ). The reason I state this is I will NOT and have NEVER paid ( real $$$) for a Lockbox (or that type of item in a F2P.. I just cannot afford it), and I do not feel that you're ability to acquire gear should be any different than mine. And currently in my inventory I have 4-5 purple weapons of various types (plus 2 shields and one of each grenade type all around the 300 level) and an orange shotgun. These have all been from drops in the game. I do not 'grind' yet, as again I have not finished the game content. And yes I have via keys acquired through game play gotten in game: 2- level 2 boxes, 3- level 3 boxes, and 1- level 4 box from keys I have gotten via just running around and playing.

I do not feel a sense of entitlement from Trion as I for one feel that those items should be 'Hard to get' hence the color coding rarity. If you have a million people running around with 'orange' or 'purple' guns then they really aren't that 'rare'.. just 'rarer to get' which are 2 totally different things. I was thinking that now that I have broken 300 EGO that the drop rates are a bit too high for what I have accumulated.

I know most will TL.DR, but just because you can afford to toss around $$ should not entitle you to any better a chance than those of us who play just as hard and cannot. Grapes and Oranges should be just that extremely hard to get.. it makes them more of what they were meant to represent. And being as the only real differences are the synergies and such.. you're still dealing with mostly the same weapon!

i think your mis-understanding, i didnt say make it so everyone can get an orange like nothing, i merely said have at least a small increase in drop chance on item mall boxes, and i understand color of rarity etc as ive played many f2p and p2p mmo's diablo2 diablo3 wow etc, and i cant afford to toss around money i believe thats the point here, im spending what little money i have on me to spare and i earned by breaking my back for hours to get a yellow gun out of a 4 dollar lockbox, you serious? bleh

Would they be legendary if they were easy to get?
Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.
