Hotshot: Reservoir Chickens Bug

I've been trying to get the silver medal on Hotshot: Reservoir Chickens for the Madera Exploration II pursuit since the patch made the scoring more reasonable. Unfortunately, every time I get a silver medal score or higher, when I run out of ammo with the pistol used for the event, it just switches my weapon to my current loadout. The only way I have found that I can end the event is by leaving the event boundaries, which of course, fails the event and gives no experience or rewards. The event seems to end without any issues when I get bronze or nothing, but that doesn't help me at all.

Hot shot chicken garbage is still broken cant finish my pursuit for Marin. Wasting time playing stupid chicken challenges is not fun this game is annoyingly broken, it would be better to just remove this challenge until they fix it and save people some time and frustration, like they did with dam defence, take some responsibility for making crappy challenges remove it rework it make it function then put it back in, stop wasting everybody's time.

I kept getting the same bug as well. Anything close to gold or over it just switches to my weapons and it keeps going on the same routine without finishing the challenge.

I just tried something on a guess though and it worked (at least for me). I did the challenge till silver. (517 score) and as soon as i got silver i just emptied out all left over bullets in the sky. That for me at least finished the challenge so i could get the mark in my "pursuit book".

use an explosive to down yourself

Same problem with Crystal Defence. It just swtiches to my own weapons and then I lose instead of getting the gold which I should have gotten.

If it switches to your normal loadout in a challenge instead of ending try wasting all your ammo.
It should end once you run out of ammo.

Another solution is to just waste your ammo before doing the challenge, that way even if it does glitch the challenge should end because you have no ammo left.

Two options (all hotshots can do this by the way) either A: off yourself with a grenade, or B: just empty the ENTIRE AMMO reserve for the weapon you have equipped and it will end.

No wonder I can not find dam defense on the map!!

Dam defense was removed because it was being exploited for massive XP, not because it was broken.

So unequip the bmg beforehand. hmmm....
