Trion Worlds is constantly talking about this new MMO they made called Defiance. It has a lot of the workings of an MMO but it's missing one major component - chat. When I'm in the game there is absolutely no one talking/typing in map chat. This is key in an MMO. People will stay in game longer to have conversations with friends in other MMO's and just BS about whatever they think of. Instead, it's crickets and an empty sad world where you go from one objective to another with no a word between people.

Trion - you have got to fix the chat. Overhaul it to be more like Rift's if you have to but it needs to be fixed. It's horrible in it's current state and honestly you are missing on such a key feature of MMO's.
