Hello,

I got several questions, because I just started playing today

1. What does the bar under the picture of the currently used weapon/vehicle mean?

2. Do I have to repair weapons/vehicles or are they going to get destroyed, because the text on the different vehicles says something about the durability of each.

3. How to gain levels? I am currently at 142, what is the max. level?

4. How and for what can I use the keycodes?

5. In which interval do the arcfalls appear?

6. Do the enemies have levels so you will have problems if you just start doing quests on the very bottom of the world with a low level?

7. Which effect does the level has? Are high level players stronger than new players?

8. Is there a big city where many players meet each other, like a capital city?

1) I think you're referring to the experience bar? Every weapon gains experience as you use it. When you max it out that weapon gets a random buff applied to it.

2) Durability for vehicles means how much damage it can take before it despawns and leaves you on foot. You don't have to repair it... you can re-summon a brand new one. Not sure about durability of weapons...never noticed that. But no, nothing needs repairing.

3) Gain levels by completing Pursuits, earning exp, finishing missions... all kinds of stuff. Cap is something like 5,000!

4) Keycodes are basically a currency that lets you buy lockboxes from little pod-shaped vendors you find in some camps. These lockboxes contain random weapons.

6) Sort of. A lot of Defiance comes down to player skill. Enemies get 'harder' as you move away from the start, but it's more the type of enemies. They do seem to have some kind of invisible levels. A raider near the start is easier to kill than a raider in the second zone, for instance.

7) EGO Rating is basically a gating mechanism for some content. It doesn't really impact character skill as far as I can tell. Ceridwyn_Vox is right, as you gain EGO you gain points to put into perks that make your character more powerful. Dunno how I spaced on that.. I guess because I haven't messed with my perks lately.

1. Each weapon and car has there own level, each level gives a small boost to certain stats.

2. No, Weapons do not break, and if your car gets destroyed, you just have to wait a few seconds to resummon it.

3. By completeting pursuits and by gaining ego levels. The ego level is the yellow bar across the bottom.

4. Keycodes are used to by lockboxes. The vendor for those are usually right by the main vendors.

5. I have never noticed an interval. Its just random where and when they fall, also which arkfall it is.

6. No level really, but you might have a small problem handling the oponents on the bottom without having decent weapons first.

7. Higher ego level gives you access to better ego perks which help boost your power. Also higher levels will have more slots for the ego perks.

8. As of right now, no. There are only a handfull of safe areas that has the vendors.

I have one too, in the spirit of newbness.

I have had an LMG for more than +300 rating levels, yet my LMG rank is only 4 and not increasing.

My current LMG is maxed out as well so my question is:

Do I need to find a new LMG to increase my rank in LMGs?

Yes, you have to swap weapons out after you level the particular gun to further increase your stats for that gun type.

And what does the number on each weapon tells me? It seems to have something to do with my Level.

Is there a way to turn off voice chat? I hate people with bad mics destroying my ears, not noticing that their mic isn't muted.

Do I need the arkfall recycling curreny for something else than buying keycodes?

What is a pursuit? I am german, so I am not sure what it is.
