I've seen a "scoped in" assault rifle in one of the official trailers so Im gonna say........ hopefully =P
I know that I've seen scopes in the weapon modification trailer. No idea if those are functional or just stat boosts, but they did show one on an assault rifle.
I think even having ironsights would be good. Better than just crosshairs.

I meant allow all guns to have a "scope", but with ironsights instead of zoom. But I haven't played third-person shooters much, so I don't know if it'll work. I like ironsights in FPS tho

Im nearly 100% positive Ive seen a scoped LMG also in a vid, cant seem to find it atm.
You do indeed zoom to crosshairs with a sniper rifle.
I used to be an eager Ark Hunter like you, then i took a "soon" to the ear.
as long as i can put a sniper rifle scope on a shotgun i will be very happy
