A few suggestions, for improving the gameplay!

I would like to address a couple of things, which IMO would improve the flow/speed and fun of the actual gameplay. It´s quite a read, but bare with me.

    Loadouts

This is an issue, which PC gamers have to deal with because Defiance is for consoles as well.
Why are there only 2 weapons in a loadout? I have played my fair share of shooters, I cannot think of any shooter where you can only carry 2 weapons at a time.

You could argue, that there are more loadouts which you can swap to at any given time.
Yeah only that you can´t. In combat at least. Well you can, but during a fight you most certainly are dead be4 you could finish equipping the other loadout, because the UI (once again because of consoles) is fcking BS (there also are no keybinds for that either, which would make this whole thing a lot easier ofc).

You could also argue, that you can just equip the appropriate loadout beforehand for the given situation and mobs ahead.
Wrong. You never know wtf is coming at you, or what is going to pop out of these "monster-boxes/clowncars".
Let´s stay on the topic of shooting, and continue to the next issue.

    Aiming / Hip shooting

Due to the third person perspective, your hip shots are never going to land where you are aiming at.
Have you ever tried to shoot stuff down from hip shot perspective? You won´t land a single bullet, unless you are a physicist/mathematician who calibrates the distance and whatnot in order to land a hit.
The other possibility ofc would be to spray-and-pray, yeah, sounds like fun and skill.

Let´s have an example: I am fighting some stuff, mobs come close, I try to hip shoot them down, and it just doesn´t work. I need to go into aiming mode, which is a pain in the d-ick, because the crosshair (due to the third person perspective) will be in a complete different spot than where you were aiming at in your hip shot position.
Despite that, it is complete nonsense having to go into aiming mode, which covers 1/3rd of your screen black, having to search for the mob (since perspective change), and on top of all that having to deal with the slower mouse-speed in aiming mode (god knows why that is in the game), for a mob which is like 10 meters away from you. -dat sentence, I apologize-

But Rend, you might say, just use a shotgun! This surely will work!
You are right, it would. Only that I have my shotgun in another loadout, which brings us back to the issue above!

Mouse speed drop while in aiming mode

Why...?? Probably a console thing as well, uff... (see above)

    Run / Walk

It would be sweet to have an option for permanent running (like so many other games have), so you don´t always have to deal with activating it after stopping, aiming, rolling, and whatnot else.

    Roadblocks

It is a neat idea to have that in the game, only for about the first couple of hours though. Then it gets annoying as shtako! You wanna drive and drift around, but every 100 meters, you have these roadblocks on which you have a 0% chance to just pass by without knocking into stuff.
Which renders the driving aspect (don´t get me wrong, I enjoy it) of the game not really useless, but unenjoyable.

    Vehicles

Not that big of an issue, but I think the physics could use some overhauling regarding
    - boost: why is the speed dropping immediately (after stopping to boost) back to normal speed?
    - steering: it kinda feels unresponsive at first, but then always seems to accelerate way too much the longer you hold down
    - perspective: while driving, god forbid you are trying to look around. Your view is always forced back to default when you are trying to look to the sides or behind you. Or any direction basically. (Example: you are driving some road which goes downhill, and you cannot for the love of god see where the f-uck you are going to)

What are your opinions on these things? Am I standing alone with these issues I have?

Well Rend.. nice post.. I'll give you my opinions since ya asked, and as a fellow PC player as well:

Loadouts - I agree almost entirely with your position on Loadouts. A hotkey or keybind to switch would be AWESOME and really make the game have a whole new dynamic. However, I find that I *CAN* and often *DO* switch loadouts in the middle of a fight. Hit L (opens loadouts).. then hit the NUMBER of the loadout you want.. it switches.. hit Escape.. and bam.. back to the action. After a bit of practice I've got it down to about 2 seconds. And of course, you still have to do this from behind cover, it's not an "instant switch" practice of course.

Aiming/Hip shooting: Yeah.. hip shooting is a bit sporadic at best, but then again, it's that way in real life as well. You *can* learn to hipshoot really well in RL, if you stick with one weapon and really master it. Defiance making the weapon useless after a certain point pretty much negates that unless you've got a few of them stockpiled. As for Aiming.. well.. frankly unless I'm using a sniper rifle, I LOATHE the scopes in the game. Mainly for the issue you mentioned of blocking out the entire screen. Instead I just forgo putting scopes on my weapons and using the generic aim reticle, which is quite accurate after you get used to the drop off for any specific weapon. I would prefer something where the scope isn't slammed up against the eye so you still have some situational awareness, but I've yet to see a scope like that in game. Iron sights it is

Mouse speed - I adjusted my mouses custom software in conjunction with Win7 options and completely ignored the in-game options. My mouse works just the way I like it now so that it's comfortable for ME, and where I'm most effective. Give that a shot.

Run/Walk - would be convienent, but not really necessary

Roadblocks - Frankly, I just go around most of them now unless I'm doing a pursuit or contract that requires the enemy that's going to spawn. Their actually pretty easy to tell: Raiders come from the ugly trucks, Mutants from the Helicopters (which don't spawn til after the trigger), 99ers from the Big square trucks (only slightly different from the raiders trucks), and hellbugs from just about anywhere (again, after the trigger UNLESS the crystalist-things are out). You *CAN* drive around them without much difficulty, or you CAN just mow things over on the way past for a few extra xp here and there.

Vehicles- Driving : If you turn, the perspective automatically pops back to default, which can be annoying, especially when going uphill. I find however that if you plan a few seconds ahead, like you do when your driving your real car, it's not that big of an issue.

Vehicles - Handling: I've found as I've increased my skill in the various vehicle classes, that the handling has changed for the better. Maybe it's just me.. not sure, but it's been that way consistantly across the vehicles in that class. I do believe however that the charger is a tank without treads.. it drives like a block of wood. I prefer the Duni's instead.. quick and responsive, fast reboost times, and no giant drop in speed when going uphill or off-road.

Vehicles - Boost: yeah.. the dropping back thing is kinda wierd, that I agree with.

Overall.. good post, and good observations

I did not even know that was possible. I always tried to do that with the mouse!
    Thanks man

I also agree with you on the scopes for any other weapon than Sniper rifles. I plain and simply don´t bother equipping one anymore.

As for the roadblocks: I will agree that there are roadblocks you can pass quite easily.
    Others though:
