    Still waffling....

Couple of points I am not clear on. Seems like shields are always limited to 10 points? Or is it just scaled graphically to 10? Seems obvious that it would be the latter, but given they talked about avoiding a huge gap based on level....seems weapons would be the same?

Also, so no AH/trading post etc, different "worlds", no global chat, right? So selling items is pretty much limited to vendors or getting lucky unless you want to use a 3rd party web site?

Does crafting involve "recipes" you unlock, buy, discover etc?

Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing the game, just trying to talk myself into a pre-order instead of waiting to see how things go...

I guess I am going to be that guy. This is not an MMORPG it is a TPSMMOG. You will not see the exact same things in this game as you see in popular mmorpg's. They are focusing more on the fast paced pixel perfect combat that you can participate in with your buddies. They did of course put in some RPG elements which only enhance they shooting aspect of the game.
Good... Bad... I'm the guy with the gun!

Crafting basically means - Buy/find new parts to weapons and equip them. And what exactly are you asking when you say shields are limitied to 10 points?

This world will grow man. As for the market thing, I was thinking it would be cool if a guild was created solely for providing one. Something like The Cartel.

"Within a few decades, machine intelligence will surpass human intelligence, leading to The Singularity -- technological change so rapid and profound it represents a rupture in the fabric of human history. The implications include the merger of biological and nonbiological intelligence, immortal software-based humans, and ultra-high levels of intelligence that expand outward in the universe at the speed of light."

The wiki talked about scavenging old parts to make new ones, so curious if you start with all knowledge or very little.

In the IGN video, the shield icon on the HUD had 10 blocks whether the guy was (what I assume was level) 10, 20 or 504. Just checking to see if it is basically a percentage based, ie 8 blocks means you have 80% shield remaining. This ties into the bit about everyone being able to compete regardless of level.

@Zurka Please read the last part. I am not bashing the game for "lacking" anything. I am just trying to fill in gaps in my knowledge. I really don't need another game, playing The Secret World as my mmo, add in Borderlands 2 and StarCraft 2 as ones I am working on finishing. However much I think the show isn't going to fly (like Revolution, I like the idea, just am skeptical), the game looks interesting so I am looking for an excuse to waste some of my cash that I foolishly loaned the government last year. :P

Yes, there are always 10 bars that account for 10% of shield strength. Shield strength, recharge rate and delay etc vary a lot.

that is exactly why i think it has 10 blocks for shield. but there are diff shields you can aquire each with diff recharge rate/delay and strength

Pretty much covers it, except for crafting. So is there much info on it? Or, as I suspect, people spent all their time shooting each other and didn't get a chance to check out crafting?

I did grab a beta key from MMORPG so with luck will get some time with it. Have to admit the charger looks sweet

You can break down items for Scrap. You can spend scrap to put mod slots on weapons. That is all I have seen so far.
