I have to step in on this one.

So you buy a car and you find out that the seat belt doesn't fit around you or the headlights continue to not come on when they are meant to. Does this mean you should stop driving and give up... or do you take car to the garage to get fixed, well you take it to the garage to get fixed, because you paid for the car.

No one is forcing you to drive, but you want to drive, so you have to do what is needed to get through that moment of trouble. Sometimes you feel as if you are being ****ed by the mechanics as they are overcharging you for what needs to be fixed, but you bend over and take it and you have the right as a consumer to complain about what is happening.

So what you said is ******ed I'm sorry to say. We are gamers and we can't choice to not be a gamers, it's in our blood. It's what gave many of you social skills when you were once afraid to speak to people, it gives many the motivation to be better at what we do in our jobs/life and of course to be better in the games we play.

So what you said is unfortunately very narrow minded and shows you are one of the new generation of gamers.

    Where do I begin?

Over the last few days I have been raging because, as you all know, the game is extremely bugged. I expect every game I play to have some bugs, they are to be expected, BUT THIS IS A JOKE!

Every aspect of this game is bugged in one way or another.

WEAPONS - Change mods randomly, reload twice on EGO discharge, do different amounts of damage every day, change appearance irregularly and many combinations of these annoyances.

VEHICLES - Wheels decide to dissapear while driving, stats reset after hours of progress, blow up after running over two people? ( I know this was changed with the patch but whoever came up with that idea doesn't deserve to play the game. )

PvP - Stats do not register for pursuits and reset every game ( an easy fix ), spawning system is diabolical, shotguns are extremely overpowered, cloak is overpowered, pursuits appear for maps that are not available, hackers have penetrated the hackshield already and last but not least, winning a shadow war results in a loss and vice versa. <--- not fixing this is just lazy.

MISSIONS - Players are sometimes not able to interact wth objectives, players can often complete the mission without the completion registering, cut scenes frequently bug out, subtitles do the same.

ADDITIONAL PURSUITS - Data recorders are often bugged out or invisible, pursuits that involve killing enemies in certain areas just don't work for some players ( like todays radio tower pursuit ), as stated before CAPTURE AND HOLD IS NOT IN THE GAME TRION!!

    SOCIAl - Enough said.

Never before have I had to take time away from playing a game to write a post this big about how much it is doing my head in.

WE ARE PAYING YOUR WAGES, GET A GRIP!

Today I watched a live stream of a Trion employee playing the game and having the time of his life, makes my blood boil knowing i've paid for this.

A perfect example of how a dev team should be is Path of Exile.
18 ****ING people update this game with meaningful content, frequently.

18 people outdo you in every way possbile, and the hilarious thing is, Path of Exile is free..

Pull your finger out Trion...Stop updating the game with outfits and purchasable crap and start changing this game for the better.

Are you no better than the other money grabbing, idiotic, ignorant developers out there?

    We shall see...
In what context are your making this complaint? Are you on PC or Console? If so which one?

I am on PC and do not have almost any of those issues. I am aware that XBOX has, through their requirements, forced a lot of issues because the Xbox is not even as up to date as the PS3. I don't think the Xbox can handle Defiance and that is the real issue with the XBox people. Microsoft sold you a bill of goods that is Shtako.

Also no other MMO has ever tried cross platform, that has a set of challenges that is unique and there is no one Trion can look to for support or advice.

Also, as much as PC players would love a PC friendly U.I. the console people would cry foul because console people have been 80% of the *****ing and whining as it is because PC player have had YEARS of experience with MMO's and release dates where as Xbox has not had a MMO for 7 years and all other attempts have failed, which should prove just how daunting of a task it is.

When I look back at other MMO launches I have been involved with Defiance is one of the smoothest and Rift was also in my top 5 of smoothest launched. Wow wasn't playable for it's first month at all with all the roll backs and server crashes.

You have some valid issues, have you also updated all of your drivers since? I had to roll back one of my device drivers for Beta to make it playable.

I think Trion also needs a test realm so that players can help test patches before they go live and make sure the fixes work. What ever they are using as an internal testing system is an obvious failure at this point.

It isn't though. Do you know why? This is a video game, and not a car. It's very rare you can make a comparison here, because this thing we do called "gaming" is done as a hobby. We do it for fun. If he is not having fun, he should not do it. If he isn't getting what he paid for in his hobby, he shouldn't pay for it. Simple as that.

Edit: Also, by the way, I am 28 years old and I have been gaming since as far back as I can remember. I assure you, I am not part of the "new generation of gamer".

I was not saying the OP was wrong in his feelings. I was just saying that if he doesn't like how his hobby is going, move on.

Knowing that no MMO launch which I have been a part of (and I've played MMOs since the days of Meridian 59 / Ultima Online) has been far from smooth does not make a "narrow minded" member of the "new generation of gamers".

It means I have experience of MMO launches and realistic expectations.

I can only assume that anyone who thinks that an MMO will be perfect at launch has never played an MMO at launch. Or they have amnesia.

And regardless of any rose-tinted, nostalgic memories even companies like Blizzard had issues at launch.

back when i learned FORTRAN, our instructors had an anacronym, that was drilled into our heads. GIGO. it stands for this: Garbage In, Garbage Out. perhaps if the dev team were competent, they wouldn't require an entire separate team, for bug fixes tying the game into the series is a MARKETING GIMMICK. and no amount of good marketing will overcome a poorly executed launch. right now, you have a live product in front of customers, and the gameplay quality is, to put it bluntly, failing in all marks. if trion executive leadership chooses to continue focusing on marketing agreements, they will soon be left with a very expensive tv series on their hands. lemme know how that works out for ya.
there are two kinds of people in this world. those with short attention spans

It's sad, but evidence is mounting that it's true.
Well for me I like to complete games to the fullest not just finish and give up. If you think I'm a "modern" gamer and just care about having big number etc you are very much mistaken lad.

Again you fail to understand what we as gamers are. We don't see this is a hobby, we see this as part of who we are. Most of us have been playing computer games for over 20 years now.

Most of us want to enjoy what we pay for and of course there are things which can sometimes not work, but we paid for this product. Unfortunately under some laws within many countries you can no longer get a refund after 72 hours or within 2 weeks.

However if we wanted too the people here within the European Union could take this matter to the European Consumers Rights, which would pretty much fine Trion for a vast amount of money if they deemed their release to be a broken product and lied to their customers. Normally this results in everyone affected having a full refund and normally Trion being sued a couple of hundred thousand euros to anywhere within the millions.

So again stop being narrow minded about this whole situation and step into the shoes of a passionate gamer who wants the best out of the product they have paid for and want to continue using, but they are being slapped in the face by the people who sold them their game.
