Headgear being removed?

Someone on a livestream I was watching, in chat, just stated that the devs said in Friday's livestream they may be removing headgear options.

This is kind of a big deal to me - I know it's a minor preorder bonus, but nonetheless, I did pay for the Hellbug cap. I'm also really fond of customizing my characters, particularly in third person shooters where you stare at your character the entire time. If they remove headgear options, that's a serious drop in customization potential - instead of mixing and matching to at least get a somewhat unique or different look, you would just pick from a handful of skins everyone else was using as well.

I dunno why the idea bothers me so much, but it does. Have the devs been regularly removing content? Is this even true, or was the guy trying to sound important?

I think what's currently up in the air regarding headgear is whether or not it will simply be cosmetic item, or a piece of equipment that does something.

I did hear the comments in the stream, but considering the fact that they have everything from eyeglasses to caps offered as pre-order bonuses, I think maybe we're misinterpreting the comments about removing headgear.

edited: re read things. Head gear all togther won't be removed no. Its wether they add stats later. Right now they seem to be only cosmetic in videos. Don't worry

Yeah I highly doubt they remove headgear completely out. That would kind of a sinker for me.. As you can tell in my picture and my signature, head gear options are kinda a big deal for me too. I could care less if there are stats or not.

^This. While it wasn't particular clear in that stream (also was a bit worried when they told us), but I think he was talking about whether they will add bonusses to headgear or not.

Might be nice to get some confirmation from any of the CM's though.

Balancing problems would seem like the more likely of the options... but who knows. Even if it isn't there to start it will probably be added in the future.
