I'm wondering if it has to do with the fact that its not a patch at all, but a full reinstall of the game with new files added. Mabe sony is not going to have their network used that way every time this game is patched and they're putting their foot down now.
Anyone else think this may be the case?
No, the patch that Sony hasn't released yet is just a title update. Which is why Trion is waiting to release the server client patch for when you log into the game. The patch from Sony should be released tomorrow afternoon sometime. I hope that is of course.Originally Posted by wilks

The patch was broken at least Sony was smart enough to hold it off for a little while

Have you read something that said this, if so please post a link, or are you just assuming? I hope you are right.
The patches on the server side that Trion puts out for us to download while logging into the game doesn't need approval from Sony. The title updates do. Which is why when you look at the second post in the patch thread. There are fixes for each platform. Those are the title updates. Now about the whole approval aspect of the client patches. I could be wrong but i now that title updates need approval.
Go look in the tech issues forums, After the patch hit the PC/Xbox, the number of posts by people who had their characters corrupted and unplayable is just unacceptable.
Don't get me wrong, i am happy we didn't get the patch for that reason. I would still like to know when we will be seeing it or when they think we will see it. I would like for my chat not to mess up every time i leave a matchmaking. I am happy with the game so far though.
Nobody character was corrupted , well not on xbox. We just couldnt sign into the game. Trion fixed it in a hour.

Forget the update this game will take years to fix sell and rebuy when $20 in a month or so. I think greenman gaming had console for 32 new. I took 1-2 day break and opened my eyes. They ripped me off on ce content and bit buys and cs wont help tried for 2 weeks. I thought aliens was worst ce buy but this ce takes #1.
