and for reals... almost all of the games for an ehksbocks barely take from 3-18 house to complete, with only 7 out of 900+ titles being the exception... I dare you to pop in a Battle For Middle Earth game disc into your xbox and try playing that.. it's an RTS.. so it really pushes the limits of the hardware, and after 5 units are on the map at the same time it will crash......

It's bad enough that console is plagued with an atrocious failure and inadequate hardware, on some of the factors limiting developers to what they can make for it., but the fact is the games they do have aren't fantastic. 544 of those 900+ tiitle are actually original xbox games they payed royalties to nvidia to develop emulators for (aka: "reverse" compatible"), take away the cheesy dl games or "arcade" a plethora of crap that is also played on any cell phone in the world..., further eliminate the titles that you will never see, even if they are good, because that console and it's products are REGION LOCKED.......

go ahead and say it has a better online player base.. because it doesn't.. even in pure numbers it has less than HALF the online users that PS3 has.. barely hosting 1/7 of the library.. etc. etc.. can go on all day about it..

point is.. it has a hard time trying to play what few games it has that were good. Halo?? any pc gamer would show you halo is not only lethargic in it's gameplay, but the maps are a strait cut/paste from maps of other games.. change the colors, insert master cheif, BAM, sell to thousands of foolish kids who thought that was a cool person in the chat room not knowing it was an MS employee in a sales/advertisement campaign...

had the people really known the truth, the actual stats behind the hardware, the potential, and the limitations.. along with the actual costs to operate.. they would have easily ignored that console.. like they should have. Though.. years later, and a lesson learned.. many have figured that out the hard way. the first xbox failed alot.., somehow these kids thought it was good enough to help them make another xbox, which still, even today, fails alot (54.7%)...... the 3rd one is already 3-4 years behind in terms of hardware.. hopefully people have gotten sick of spilling their wallets out to MS for mediocre entertainment and will wise up to the joys of less expensive, and higher quality fun... aka.. PC/PS..

I personally like to chill on my couch then hunched over a desk. I dont feel the need to spend over a grand to get a decent set up that I constantly have to keep upgrading every year. That being said, I could care less that you think console are inferior.

IGN's review is accurate and even generous to some degree. This game will die and fizzle off if the DEVS dont get there act together, stop messing with the fun things and just fix the major issues.

If some players want to grind keycode just let them, if some players want to drive over enemies in there cars just let them, if most people want better guns for pve, provide them when completing quest line. And if some players thing some guns are op in pvp make a standardized load outs for pvp. Its not that complicating! but to mess with pve guns because people are complaining about them for pvp is just ridiculous.

Ok.. your doing the same thing. In no other MMORPG can you complete the content in a week of playing.. (which, coincidentally, isn't true.. I took a character to 50, finishing all the missions and major co-ops.. in SWTOR.. in 8 days, without any boosts.. granted.. it was 8 REALLY long days.. but it's totally possible).

However.. what your doing is what a bunch of other people are doing. Your confusing MMO with RPG. The two are NOT exclusive. Defiance has gone out of their way to market this as an MMOTPS.. with some RPG elements. But make no mistake, this is a SHOOTER. In RPGs you have the depth of content (or you should).. the clan and faction systems, the vertical progression of gear and skills.. all that stuff that you and others are complaining about, that is ROLE PLAYING GAMES, as standard "feed me more" fare.

Defiance is NOT your standard MMORPG.. it's a SHOOTER. It's dynamics are totally different.. it's system of leveling and playability is totally different.. and it's standard of being tied into an ACTIVE Television Show is something that's NEVER been done before.

So instead of looking at all those GLARING, IN YOUR FACE FACTORS.. IGN and AngryJoe do reviews the only way they know how.. off the information of a MMORPG. In short.. THEY FAILED. Problem is.. they failed in such glaringly obvious fashion, that people will think their review is spot on, when in reality, they both missed the mark on many points.

Do not bring up AoC because it had 10x the content and diversity compared to Defiance. It also has better graphics. Yet it tanked big time and is on my list of most disappointing MMOs ever.

So ya, fan bois race in to defend the game when universally Defiance is getting pretty much the same scores across the board.

As a side note, BRINK got better score than this lol and that says something.

brink got a better score cause it's publishers paid ign for a decent score.90% of all games that receive a 8/10 or better had publishers that paid for the reviews.And the 10x content AoC had was unplayable.Most of it was broken for the first two months.

I like the Defiance game. I do. However, after reading the review, I also can't say he is that far off the mark. On a rating of 1-10, Defiance really is about a 5 or 6.

That doesn't make me have less fun in the game, as I don't give two cents what a reviewer rates a game at. However, I'm not going to sit here and claim that it is a great game. It's a fun game for me, but the shortcomings are a long list. And that's looking at it for what it is supposed to be: a shooter with very minor MMO elements, not an MMORPG as some seem to be confused about.

Unless the Devs really get on the ball, I figure maybe a month or two of play, and then like a normal $50-$60 offline game, I'll probably put it aside. Sure, I'll check back at a later date to see what they've added as far as free updates and the DLC material. But while I love the show, it isn't going to keep me playing the game anymore than my love of Star Wars kept me in SWTOR. The connection to the show is tenuous at best. Heck, a Syfy executive made it clear in a late 2012 interview that the game was not going to affect or change the show after all. Syfy is running the show as a normal series, period. The best is that the show effects the game on Trion's end.

So, yeah, I like the game and am having fun, but it's a month or two at this rate at best for me. A 5 or 6 is about where I would rate it as an overall game. Trion has a lot of work and polishing to do.

nono, not pc elitist.. I simply dislike anything that breaks often and is, from any point of view, a general rip off to my customers... I own a couple stores, specializing in home entertainment sales and installation, like making "man caves" and such. I have customers, and keep them, because I present them with facts, from the manufacturers, from 3rd party testing and from testing done in front of the customer, I show them which lasts longer, which costs less, which does more, and which does it better.

and I am by no means a pc elitist, While PC is nice, and lets me do some different things with much more flexibility, the capability, quality, and low cost of using a PS3 makes it a fantastic choice for home entertainment.

True.. but here's the difference.. I'm not a powerleveler, min/maxer, or any type of "rocker leveler". I play all the stories.. all the side missions.. all the quests/dungeons/task forces as soon as their available for my level. And.. I generally do it SOLO. So yeah.. 8 days is pretty damn fast.

Now that being said.. we're at what.. Day 16 now.. and I'm not even on Jackleg yet.. and at ego 576.. just cruising around.. do emergencies.. arkfalls.. episode missions.. main and side missions.. and co-ops. I'm not doing anything crazy or overly amazing.. I'm just playing the game at a nice comfortable pace. If you rushed to get to the "end game".. of a game that doesn't have an "end game" BY DESIGN.. well.. you just burnt yourself, and there's no one else to blame but yourself.

There is no way that in any other MMO you can complete all the content in under a week of playing! Thats why! And after the patch it got even worse! Nerfed all the fun out of the game!

actually every mmo can be finished in a week at launch.all the mmos that take more then a week have been out for years and have had many cotent updates and xpacs.with the exception of ffXI which was built to be incredibly hard even with a group,most have little content.the game has only been out for two weeks and people are *****ing there isn't enough content.here's an idea get off your *** and stop playing for 12+ hours a day and you wouldn't burn through content so fast.But I get it it's hard for people like you to not play for so many hours a day when you have no life,no girlfriend/wife or a job.And the nerfs that were put in with the patch is because of whiney little kids like you that *****ed about rocket launchers,shotguns,cloak and every other pointless complaint because people won't accept he fact that maybe they just are not that skilled in pvp.
