I'm not worried bout the score, just a shame that IGN has such abusive tendencies towards smaller developers who can't afford the price tag of a quality review.
That's too bad you read it that way because he made a lot of his game play sessions public on Twitch. He logged a ton of time and was very receptive to inquiries while he was playing.

If IGN put out a 9/10 people would love IGN since they gave it a 5.9 "They don't know ****!"

Here's the thing, the show and the game have the same strategy. They gave you an alien, unique world to play in but started you off on very familiar footing. The first episode of the show wasn't crazy unique or creative, but it let you in on familiar grounds. Same thing for the game.

It's a ballsy move, given the 5 second attention span of the general public.

That strategy could work if there was enough content to last til more got implemented. Why not gate each stage of content with the episode release and provide something besides data recorders to deal with between each episode? Why leave so little to do?

I look forward to being proved wrong when free content gets patched in that suddenly adds depth to the world of Defiance.

Obviously whatever they paid IGN for the Rift review didn't seem worth it with only an 80+ million dollar budget.

1st of all the guy doing the review is a idiot who needs to go back to WoW from the way he talks and sounds about this game.

these are the same people who gave bioshock a 9.5 and talked that whole review about how you didn't have anything holding your hand. AHHHHH HELLO you have a friggen npc following you around holding your hand the entire game moron. btw some of you might like this game but i wont give it a chance cause i HATE npc's in any game. they are beneath me and i wont carry their sorry butts F THAT ID RATHER DIE IN A FIRE.

these are the same people who gave the new simcity a 7 then make 15 min vids everyday about the lame game. gee did you happen to notice the whole stupid tiny box they gave you to work with is already full in the 1st 15 mins????? i give it a 1 at best and even thats over rated. im not paying 1 damn cent to make a city on that tiny little square that will be full in 20 mins tops and they want $80 after taxes ya right.

these are the same people who gave WoW MOP a 8.7 which sucked so bad apparently people are leaving in droves. last i heard they was dipping below 4 mill subs from 12.5 mill at its release.

last but not least these are the same guys who gave starwars a 9 WTF did they even play it?????? i absolutely LOVE everything to do with starwars but 2 days in that piece of crap garbage game beta and i said this games not worth wasting money on and quit the beta. i was jones'n bad for a mmo at that time to cause i hadn't played WoW in forever and rift for like 2 months. happy to say when i dropped this garbage beta(starwars) i went back to rift love that game still

for me and what i want out of a SHOOTER game(this isn't a WoW type game which the ign moron thinks it is) i give this game a 9. to me its a single player shooter that gives me tons of things to do in quests/sidequests and if i wanna see people and blow poop up i can do arkfalls. halo i race through finish it, call it done and never play it again. with this game i can never actually finish it and even if i do i can restart the quests and blow it all up again. ill never run out of things to do and its free

ntm the funnest part which is running everything that moves over LOL. was watching the show with my family and that part with all the monsters made me drool hard saying "in game id be running that over then backing over it to run it over again" LOL

I did something like 15 major arkfalls before I got tired of them. I did some pvp but shotgun cloak fest wasn't really exciting. I mean I grabbed a pump action and shot people in the face a close range a few times. It just didn't feel worth my time.
