After having played the game for about 70h (not including the time I spent in beta), I'd give it a 6 out of 10. It's a solid and fun mmo, but there are just too many flaws to rate higher.

A reasonable 7 out of 10. Despite the number of bugs and glitches out in the wild, I've tolerated worse/unresolved problems from higher profile single player and MP titles (Fallout: New Vegas, Guardians of Middle Earth, etc.) for literally YEARS (Gears of War 2) before bowing out. Since this is my first MMO I was expecting far worse than I've dealt with thus far so I'm in it for the long haul or until this game suffers signs of severe neglect.

5 out of 10 now, 7 when they'll fix gamebreaking bugs, 8 if good portion of interesting content will be added in patches and dlcs
6/10 currently, however if things go great (aka less bugs or FIXED bugs, a working "resume" on the launcher and NOT HUGE 4gb+ patches) I will easily give it an 8/10.

Around a 7/10 would be good for right now. Pretty good and has potential.
Since i can't seem to DL the new 4.2 gig patch without the patcher giving me and error and then RESETTING my entire DL from the beginning, i have to give Defiance a 3 out of 10.
