While I did play WoW for many years, I'm an adult gamer that has limited time. It was becoming too exhausting to grind for everything to feel competitive. Tradeskills, PvE, PvP, Quests, there was just to much to do. While some people find the time to do it all, I never could and I felt like I wasn't getting my monies worth due to my lack of not being able to accomplish all that I wanted.

Take Defiance for what it is. A Buy/Free to Play MMOTPS. You can't expect Free to Play games to have as much content as games like World of Warcraft. WoW has been out for 10+ years to develop the content it has... Defiance JUST launched. I grew up on playing EverQuest which is now a Free to Play game with a optional subscription fee if you want to unlock everything. Most of the content it has is from the many years of it being an MMO and the money generated from those years of sales+subscription fee's. Give Defiance a chance before crying foul. They will push content and DLC's, but don't expect MAJOR content such as things you see in an expansion in WoW and like games.
Yeah, I am not sure why you would quote me there.

I only was pointing out that it is ridiculous to count achievements as content. And that is all.

No clue what drove you to explain WoW to me lol, but thx for your input I guess.
Also, no one was talking about business models.
What point are you trying to prove, since you responded to me directly?

Did you just say that you didn´t get your money worth, because there is too much content in WoW???
Wtf is that supposed to mean. Read that sentence again, and please explain to me how too much content rips you over lol.
This statement does not make ANY SENSE AT ALL!

I never said that WoW was ripping me off because of too much content. If you read my sentence, and reread it again I think you would understand it a little more. No? Ok then please let me break it down for you.

If I were to buy a product ( whatever product) and only USE half of it, then ME personally would feel like I didn't get my monies worth. Not because said product is bad... or its ripping me off... but because ME as the consumer, didn't use said product to the MOST of what it has to offer.

WoW costs 15$ a month, which I am only able to do less than HALF of what WoW has to offer me... as a consumer. So I feel like Its not worth MY time and MONEY since I cant devote so much time into the game. I never said WoW was a ripoff for having to much content. Those were your words. It was my opinion, just like its your opinion "that it is ridiculous to count achievements as content."

Most of the time when I logon to play a new mission, it's seems so void of players. Last week, there were players all over the place. This week, it's like you have to solo almost every quest. I can understand people who play MMOs like a single player game not having a problem with this. However, one of the main reasons I play MMOs is for the community interaction during the game. It makes a big difference and you can really tell when it's not there. I'm hanging in there though and hopefully they can get this game ironed out. Free play shouldn't mean dull. We did pay $60 and that shouldn't equal dull either.

Yes the game is very repetitive and I do wish the missions were more like TSW however playing with the core group of friends everyday makes the tedium vanish. A strangely additive game, I do look forward to see how the show and the game connects.

This isn't the game for you. Sorry to say that but honestly.. you've seen a fraction of the game at 352 and you are gonna be REALLY bored once you finish the story if you can't stay amused when you have missions and jobs to do still.

In this case I want to take it as an example though: No one, and I mean no-fcking-one, would ever consider achievements in WoW as content...

Really guys, that is ridiculous. Get real.

Sure it gives you stuff to do while there is nothing else to do. But that´s about it.

Farming pursuits should not in any way, shape or form be considered as content and stuff which keeps you entertained.
lol I happen to agree with this.. Funny stuff.

I agree with that. And I am also a bit worried if we, the gaming community, will not stop this before it becomes the next "standard" feature for games to come.

Other game devs will be reading these forums and laughing with glee at all the raging fanboys who are claiming you cant complain until you've done every pursuit and are at EGO 5000. It's an easy road ahead for devs.

try the co-op maps if you are tired of the in world stuff. The structured missions definitely are nice.
