Players rapidly decreasing?

I see so much negativity about this game and people selling/quitting, makes me wonder the direction this game will go. I have noticed a huge decrease in game of players compared to week one. Not sure if its goin to keep heading that way or what. I personally love the game and hate to see it do poorly.... Think itll turn around and regain popularity?

I don't find it any more negative than any other MMO forum.

People go on a forum to complain. When they are having fun and have no complaints they rarely stop their gaming session to come to the forum and tell everyone how happy they are. They are to busy enjoying themselves.

Black ops 2 has new maps out, they will get bored and come back

Funny i purchased the season pass for Black op2 but love this so much i haven't evan downloaded the new maps yet.

When they release content for this game, you'll see alot return.

...And when that content is finished in a bout 3-5 (or a few hours by some) days by most players they will be gone again.

The lack of a proper chat system is a huge deal for PC users.

thats true, chat is very important for PC MMO.

but i can see other problem, there is too many WOW clons. guild wars, warhammer, rift, lineage ect... same schematics, mechanics, not all same in all those games, but they are sharing a lot.

defiance is something new, fresh and different, and thats what ppl dont like, they want another wow clone in Defiance world because they know wow, what to do, they know schematics, they have seen it before... and ppl are afraid of new things...

i like what i got and i dont want to change defiance for another wow clone or something totally different from what i have now.

I dont see all that many actually quitting. It tends to consist of the same old trolls whining in multiple threads about how bad the game is and that they dont want to play anymore, etc yet they still obsess about the game all day long. Standard butthurt MMO player activity.

Like I said in the keycodes thread, removing keycode drops from road events is only going to make the roads/open areas seem empty as players won't be doing them much any more...when people start getting the empty game feeling then it all snowballs till game actually *is* empty.

They need to add the keycode fragments or at least give a chance for keycodes to drop from those road events.

It would be a shame for this game to get screwed over by such a small and easily fixable thing.

This said, if anything is gonna make players quit enmass, its the chat system, and trion REALLY need to push out improvements for that NOW.

There is really no excusing the chat system, Trion are experienced at mmo's they should know just how important it is on pc, and how to do it well.

I agree the current chat system sux for the PC players. It seems as if Trion initially decided that ALL platforms would be limited to the console style chat system. More recently Oveur has said that the PC chat system will be made more PC friendly. Time will tell.
