defiance tv show.... really?

we started from cool action sci-fi show. to some kind of horror survival... to... a political drama.. to.... romeo and juliet??

and then we're going back to some side-action, with more emo and juliet.

i thought this is supposed to be defiance? not... you know, emo and juliet

in fact, i was expecting this to be an actual sci-fi action survival post apocalypse thingies. and so far... (i know its the first episode but) i see political drama, conspiracies, thug-ish rich men doing what thug-ish rich men do. boring drama, more drama, more drama...

where's the sci-fi action at?

maybe the game should be made like fallout with all the conversations and less combat, to match the tv show

Remember that most shows planned with more than half a season develop over the first several episodes and then if they make it to multiple season the characters and stories get really good. So give it at least 2 more shows then lets see.

I still haven't seen the show yet. And I cannot find a LEGITIMATE source on the internet to see it. The reviews I've read have either been completely on the fence (to the point where they don't mention ANYTHING about the show, just a revised back story) or 'it was just AWFUL'. I still wanna see it though.

lets look at 2 other very good (IMHO) shows that never got a go, but had similar starts....ready for the predictible first Terra Nova(gotcha) they got 1 season, great story. A bit shallow on who the characters were then dead.

SciFi needs to resurect this and kill ghost hunters.

The second really is Firefly(many parallels to Defiance there), Half a season and dead.

My point is the vocal FEW killed them so if you like the show find a way to SHOUT IT OUT so theyu dont kill it cause some one hate romeo and juliet or politics.

I don't have a problem with the slightly political theme since that doesn't seem like it's going to be the #1 focus of the series, and it can easily be used to build up to some action scenes. And while it's not my cup of tea I don't even have a problem with the Romeo and Juliet thing on the side since that doesn't seem like it's going to be the #1 focus of the series either, and anyone who's seen an actual play of Romeo and Juliet knows that could lead to some pretty good action scenes too.

The only thing that did bother me about the pilot episode was that the writers apparently didn't think their story was strong enough and felt the need to throw in a gratuitous sex scene and the bath scene to hook people. I just hope that's not going to be a recurring thing, because I want to see sci-fi action and not the "action" that those kind of scenes would lead to.
