Actually, I quite like the game but I'm well beyond the point as an MMO player where I feel the need to defend stupid development moves because I like the game or the developers.
Not having Episode missions ready for each TV episode is just sad. To be honest, for the twelve weeks the first season runs I'd rather have weekly Episode Missions on par with the first Episode Mission even if it meant that was the ONLY new content for the first three months. Plenty of time once the series takes a break between season one and season two to revert to traditional MMO development mode.
It appears as if either Trion just doesn't "get it", or they just couldn't deliver.
The success or failure of this "experiment" could have a huge impact on the direction of mass entertainment in the years ahead. Based on the series premier, I think the TV side of the equations has delivered on it's part of the bargain big time, while Trion is appearing as if it just may not have been up to the task of delivering their end of the bargain. It's a completely unprecedented opportunity for them as a game development studio, but it some what seems as if maybe they just aren't taking the whole thing seriously.
