LOL i remember EQOA but i was referring to EQ for PC. do you remember the glitch in the wood elf city? there was a rcok arch between a mountain and a hill if you got ontop of it you stood about 4 feet above it and could walk about 6 steps out... anyone under you look up they thought you had a levitate spell even though that wasnt in the game

i can name a MMO that STILL does the click and go to dinenr to this day ( unless it' sbeen patched AND its a grind.) FFXI... at lvl 30 you have like 300k xp ( over exaggeration ) but when killing a mob equal to your level you only get 25-50 XP. and the fights can take a bit of time.

bud. warlander might not explain it to you but i will attempt to.

quick question.. what games do you normally play? did you play MMORPGs like wow and SWTOR?

the thing is is that Trion has said they are making this into a shooter. and as we know shooters don't really fare well in the length ad story department. now i know this being Trion people expect certain things from them and this being an MMO you expect certain things form the genre.

most MMORPGs arent fast paced hell early MMO's had the "Click attack and go cook dinner" mechanic of gameplay where fights for the most basic mobs took about 30 sec-2 min.

HOWEVER a shooter as you have been able to see can kill a mob in 5 seconds flat.. ( and look 10% cooler doing it too >.> )

we also must realise that in an MMORP like WoW, though it kind of took a while to get to 60 in the beginnig, now adays you can get to 60 in about 3-5 days maybe a little longer.

this shooter hasn't even gotten to the patches for onyxia yet. if anything it would be the patch for maybe Shadowfang keep ( to put it in WoW terms)

soo though i know it might be hard because you paid good money to play, just have a little patience.

if this isn't something you enjoy right now just remember you don't have to pay a subby so you shouldn't feel pressured to play to get your enjoyment out of it.

What I actually wanted to say was, that I really do not get how the time it takes to kill a mob has anything to do with "content".
Maybe I am misunderstanding this whole thing, I am awake since 30 hours or so. But why bring up the time-to-kill smth in the 1st place?

On the topic of Content:
Let´s roll with WoW as an example again. You were playing WoW for a shtako ton of time not because it took forever to get to 60, nor because it took long to kill mobs. You didn´t lvl to 60 by mindlessly grinding mobs. No.
It just gave you hundreds possibly thousands of quests, 32 dungeons, raid instances, a HUGE world (which is not even to compare to what we currently have in Defiance) and all the other things which everyone associates with an MMORPG.
(YES I KNOW that content will be added, that is not the point. Mind the word >currently<)

Also, there was a thread which was about this very topic as well, where people claimed, that if you havn´t finished all pursuits, you shouldn´t complain about the lack of content.

Come on guys. Are you really trying to convince people that ACHIEVEMENTS should be handled as content?!

I would not even dare to imagine to throw that statement at any of the big MMOs playerbase. You would have a bad time.

What people fail to understand is, that even if you have issues with the game (and hell, do I have issues with this game) and pointing them out on the forum, it does not go hand in hand with the attitude of these very people hating the f-ucking guts out of this game, and would cut open their wrists out of sheer rage.
Some people like me, enjoy the game VERY much, but at the same time want to point out flaws, get discussions going, in order to get some awareness on various things.

And a guy on his first or second post here, asking if that was it after beating Nim, which is an absolute legitimate question, and being ripped apart in the air by insulting trolls is not the right approach.

I don´t disagree that there are plain hate posts here as well, but for the love of god, don´t just see black and white.

And let me tell you one more thing. People who rage that hard on forums mostly are people who just wanted to love and enjoy this game, got disappointed, and want to blow off some steam.
What better place than here? It´s not like you could in game, lol!
