Before the recent patch I never had any connection problems with Defiance. But after the patch I've been experiencing a lot of connection issues. Whenever I get near a lot people within a major Arkfall people start running in place then shortly after I lag out of the server. Then while im in the menus I lag out of Xbox live. I Was wondering if anyone else was experiencing same thing and if somebody knows how to fix this.
Yup, tons of connection problems after the patch. I think we are waiting for another patch to fix the things that this patch broke. Thankfully the guys I play with are patient and keep telling me this is normal for an MMO. A LOT of things still have to be fixed.

I been on xbox live for about 9 years, and what it sounds like is your getting disconnected from xbox live servers, Then the game is timing you out. Here is somethings you can do and find out. What your problem is, The patch fixed in game voice chat system and that probally your problem getting dc from xbox live, I used to years ago have problems with some routers I had would dc from xbox live on any game the moment i used voice chat or someone else used it near me or after 3 hrs game play just dc from live for no reason, i open my router and since i did that a few years ago never had issue with dc on xbox live. If you do not want here voice chat or what not got to step 5 see if that works.
1st. If possible direct connect your modem to the xbox and unplug the modem so it resets and make sure the xbox is turn off while the modem resets. See if you are having the problem. If not then it router settings.
2nd. If using outdated or old splitters that you are using in your house, not the outside the house splitters that a cable company has used, that can cause problems with xbox live also while in voice chat.
3rd. if unable to direct modem see if you can turn off any device on your network , and see if having the problem because some cpu software will cause you to DC from xbox live.
4th . Go to xbox.com and looked under there restricted nat stuff, more and likely you got a router that even if says the nat is open there is still a port or something that need to be tweek. You then need to go into your routers main setting from a CPU and make sure routers firmware up to date and look at the setting in the routers some routers got game modes that need to be turn on.
5th In the defiance menu you can turn off , group chat,area chat, clan chat, team chat. see if that works. If does, then only would need to do step 1-4 if want to use voice chat and not get dc.
