This game would have been a success if they left out pvp

I feel like the whole game mechanic is focused on pvp, which is sub-par at its best. i have to make myself enjoy pvp and that gets old fast.. if trion would have taken out pvp altogether then our weapons could be up scaled as we rank up, as well as our shields and our grenades. we could have better ego powers that were actually noticeable.
for anyone saying the game would than be un-fair and un-balanced. great! now you have a reason to play the game more.
i guess i dont think pvp should be cut out of the game.. but in its current state the game would be better off without it and buffing the loot as you rank up. if pvp had a seperate rank system where the guns stayed balanced, rather than transfering your loadout from pve, than the pve rank system could be more rewarding. thats my fix for this game.

and i know we're always going to have those hardcore Trion fan boys who would defend Trion even if they shipped the game out with a piece of pooh instead of a cd. but everyone needs constructive criticism.

the games fun, at times. but there's just so much potential to be a great game that it just breaks my heart that its being wasted.

i will continue to play the game, but only casually. and i really had high hopes for the game. But even if all the glitches and lag are fixed. the games core is were the problem truthfully is. and i don't believe people see that yet; because, its covered by all the issues from the games current state. but the game is, dare i say it, Boring.

these words are only my opinions, and i'm aware i may be the only person who feels this way. its not my intentions to bash Trion, i respect their audacity to try something new like this. this game is going to open a whole new door for gaming. but i don't feel like defiance is "that" game. some other company will take this idea and run with it. unfortunately. and that game will be a success, and Trion will get no credit. and that sucks.

    end rant.

PvP didn't ruin this game, what are you talking about. "I feel like the whole game mechanic is focused on pvp" Really? The type of game itself lends to PvP being implemented easily, but not focused on it. You can take any shooter type game out there and turn it into PvP really easy because of guns and aiming. Why do you think Halo, CoD, BF games do so well.

" i respect their audacity to try something new like this" This is not a "low blow" (Datak to Nolan) to Trion but this game plays and feels exactly like Borderlands which I have logged countless hours on. Steam account same as forum name, you can check my hours played. BL2 didn't get the same amount of time thanks to GW2 and MWO.

because my guns from the call of duty campaign don't Cary over to multiplayer.
in defiance the guns you earn cary over to pvp. so the guns cant be "over balanced" which hinders the pve.
pvp caters to a minority in most games. aside from those listed above. ex. assassins creed, mass effect, dead space. ect. and i would put defiance into that category. so why adjust the core of the game to favor pvp?

This game would still be bad without pvp. I mean look at the content. The same mission recycled over and over and over and over....

Simple fix is to remove the OP from PvP.

If there was no PvP neither I or anyone I know would have even considered buying this game. If I want a PvE experience Ill go buy a single player game that actually offers excellent content, story, and smoother mechanics, typically far greater than anything offered in any MMO.

i loved borderlands too, its one of my favorite games. and i agree this game feels alot like borderlands. but it isnt fun like borderlands, because the guns dont level up, i have nothing to work for. in borderlands the pvp was incredibly over balanced, but it was okay. if borderlands was an mmo, that game would kick a*s.. defiance does not kick a*s

Couldn't you say the same about a competitive experience? Other games put this to shame.
