This game would have been a success if they left out pvp

I agree with the OP to a certain degree, PvP has caused some problems in the PvE environment specially when its so lopsided with cloaker+shottie users all over the place and if you go in there with an AR/Sniper+Decoy your **** out of luck but im expecting this will be fixed and then i will bother with PvP.

Okay I usually never comment on PvP because in most games I leave it well enough alone because 1) I suck 2) I suck big time 3) you see that corpse? that's me... the entire game.

However playing AR+Decoy setup even *I* can get a reasonable leader board placing in PvP in this game. Do I expect to come in at number 1? No, nor probably 2 or 3 - I'll leave that to the Pros who have tweaked every last inch of advantage from their toon.

Rather than QQ because I'm not the best at PvP I can actually still have a blast playing the way I want and also not completely suck and be hindrance to my team!

If there was no PvP neither I or anyone I know would have even considered buying this game. If I want a PvE experience Ill go buy a single player game that actually offers excellent content, story, and smoother mechanics, typically far greater than anything offered in any MMO.

Thats why you are the problem. OP is right. However, your automatic assumption is oh he sucks at PVP.
So lets look at what it actually is. Its you and me playing digital paintball for what? 1337 0wnage? Why not get your butt out of that chair or couch and actually go play it?
I don't play PVP because to me its as pointless as Chris brown's singing or Lindsay Logan's acting career.
However, people lazy people want to shoot at each other for 1337 0wnage (don't tell me you don't, don't hand wave it away either) trion could have included a unique form of PVP. There was the scene in the pilot in the barrows where Nolan actually meleed a Bioman. I think that would have been awesome, You go into a building and you fight, ego only with melee or knifes agreed for both parties until one is incapacitated. The winner gets a chunk of the losers scrip. Shadow wars can stay but it would be ruled by PVE rules. Sounds like a win win.
So don't carp. This game was built for hardcore console people yet marketed to causal games on PC. Thats the real problem

While I agree that PvP is an integral part of MMOs, I see the map size as a major limitation to the the current pvp preferences we are seeing right now. due to the space available in competitive maps, its almost a no brainer to grab a shotgun and blur/cloak just for easy kills.

I personally think shadow war is awesome (when it actually works), even with the win/loss bug :S
The size of the pvp zone really allows you to experiment with different weapon types!

I haven't even touched PvP, how is it ruining the game? It's not even part of the core game. If anything, putting PvP in an entirely separate mode away from the main game was a great idea as it leaves the competitive aspect in its own arena rather than messing up the dynamic of the main game, which primarily focuses on teamwork. If people want to focus on PvP, let them...that's what it's there for. Again, I'm not sure how that is ruining the rest of the game for everyone else.
