With shotguns, you don't have to aim.. Just point in the general direction. The other guns (besides explosives) require you to aim and actually show some sort of skill.

So people choose the easiest path. Add that with cloak.. People think they are good using the most easiest/dominant combo I've seen in any shooter.

Seriously? What is the deal with people and their obsession with shotguns in this game? Not trying to sound like someone who's complaining. But really, before patch. Sawed off shotguns, now semi auto shotguns. Does anyone actually know how to use ANYTHING else?

which is why they should have been nerfed to 24 damage like the infectors. Then you actually use skill and talent. However that would be forcing my style of gameplay on you.

With Shotguns you also don't come anywhere near the range of any other weapon type. The reason why you don't have to aim is because you have to be standing next to the guy, pretty much.

The actual problems:

1) Small PvP maps heavily favoring close quarter combat.
2) Cloak.

and combining the two with

3) Close-range weapons like Pump Shotguns and SMGs.

Fix the first two and the third won't be an issue, or at least a much smaller one. However, I'm predicting massive whine about Cloak+Sniper Rifles once they do release PvP maps that are larger.

I disagree, but that's more me always playing rogues and stealth classes. People always find something to cry about, stealth is almost always one of them. "QQ someone is doing something I don't like and I don't want to learn how to adapt and overcome cry cry whine whine"

battlefield still has a problem with shotguns on it's tdm maps, with many server admins banning all shotguns outright to keep the game fair for all involved.
