Gun Maxed Out – Good or Bad??? Help Wanted!

I have a shotgun that I use a lot. When I click on the gun itself the white bar indicated that I am Maxed Out but when I go to the Stats screen it says shotguns are only at level 9. What does this mean? Should I get a new shotgun or keep using this one? Please Help.

Once the weapon xp is capped, you can't increase your shotgun skill anymore, and need to use another shotgun.
However, you may want to keep it, as once you cap your shotgun skill, it doesn't matter anymore.

My advice, always have several vendor green shotgun in your inventory to switch once the one you use is capped. Until you reach 20, and don't care anymore.

And yeah, I think the system is bad.

your shotgun itsself is maxed out this being so u cant leval up ur shotgun skill which is at 9 unless u equip one that is not fully levaled but dont toss it out cuz when u fully leval it up it adds a perk to that gun hope this helps

Yea, its good for that weapon.. but not good for your skill level in that gun type.
You will have to use a different shotgun to increase your skill level

It means you have reached the maximum experience on that particular weapon and gained a weapon specific bonus for it. Further use will no longer contribute to your overall Shotgun Weapon skill. Consider switching (unless you really love that weapon).

Arkfalls don't grant weapon xp so I actually keep my best AR and a grenade launching shotgun just because they hold all my best mods.

I'm confused on this because lately, I've been doing nothing but arkfalls and continuously gaining experience on my weapons.

To my knowledge, only the bosses give weapon exp, when it comes to arkfalls that is.

That's the same reason why I have not put my best mods on anything yet - waiting until I finally get an orange weapon for the type of gun that I want before I put all the best mods on it.

There is no significant difference between good mods and so-so mods anyways unless you are obeying all the synergy rules of the gun and mods (besides ammo size mod of course - ALWAYS use the best available mod for any of my main guns, especially for the full-auto ones).
