yea, i agree with the OP.

they should patch their games on thursday or friday night, somewhere around 7-8pm EDT.

i work 5pm to 5am, and i usually wake up at like 1 pm.

if they followed the above patching schedule, i would not have to worry about patches denying me gaming time.

they keep doing these patches at 10 am PDT, which is right when i wake up so i cant play until after they finish their downtime.

1PM EDT / 10 AM PDT is certainly an odd time to update though, especially for a company based out of the US catering mostly to US/EU.

Nope its a very smart time. The programmers are at work, and the US kids are (theoretically) in school.

Most games wisely do their updates during the day when programmers are at work. You know, in case something goes wrong. Based on the previous patch, this is a smart move by Trion.

This. Also, many times Developers will determine when their biggest drop off in players are on average. If I were to guess, 10:00AM could be such a time for this particular game. Every single MMO I have played has somebody making this exact topic. "Why can't it be at (put time slot here) instead!" It's always going to be a bad time for somebody, just kind of have to recognize that and move on.

And yet every single other major MMO, and some not so major, decide to do it at 12~2 AM Pacific. It's because the least amount of people are playing at those times, overall, for the whole world. It's stupid and doing it at these times is a sure fire way to annoy the ever loving **** out a major demographic region that you're targeting. It doesn't make good business.

Or they can just get it done quickly instead of waiting. Like they already did. Server was only down 20 minutes. I think in my heart of heart people will survive this.
