The true killer of this game is the lack of endgame. The only thing to do past the final boss, is pvp and daily missions, and of course arkfalls, but the lack of depth for both character progression and an overall difficult endgame will hurt this game. Right now I'd give this game a 7/10 but if they add something for the non-casuals to do I could easily see it becoming an 8/10.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not leaving because of these reasons, I really enjoy this game, but I find myself already back to playing BF3 after a week into this game.

    6/10.

    Too many bugs!
Too many broken missions, still... Aegis turrets mission, still F'ing broke...
Disjointed story, some of which really leaves you scratching your head.
All the aliens (foriegners) are the good guys, but story based in America (san fran / stl) while the old white guy is the bad guy?
Weapons are not nearly diverse enough, all the snipers 'feel' the same, all the lmgs, feel the same, etc...
Weapons all expire, creating a disconnect or lack of affinity / no care for any weapon, it's all crap to be cycled...
Weapons are not NEARLY rewarding enough, no really 'good' loot to go quest for, creating lack of desire for end game
Abilities / Powers are not nearly interesting / unique enough to augment combat
Combat reguardless of race feels the same, no class, race diffeence - everyone basically the same
After main mission, side missions and randoms are all rinse / repeat
Goals / Pursuits / Contracts / Co-Ops... So what... no real reward or purpose - see above... far to repetative.
Arkfalls and Co-Ops are the closest thing to party bosses, & they drop the same crap loot you find in game solo missions
Episode MISSIONs were good idea - Goals in the form of go find keys & random emergency scavenger hunts BLOW ***!
Jackleg Joe & NIM were annoying, sorry, for all you armchair geeks that said they were easy - three cheers for you, for many of us, these bosses sucked.
OH AND - Boss fights SHOULD BE CO-OP IN A MMO, I bought an online only game for a reason!!!!!!!
I don't want to be forced into a solo mission or break my in game party... EVER... in an MMO... freakin moron game designers...
There's not near enough different types of vehicles. Why can't I have a 4 man vehicle in the open world?
Why aren't there labels on the open world locations of the various areas?
Where the heck is the auction house?
Why is there no crafting system, or similar way of earning in the game... is it going to all remain contracts, pretty linear?

Don't get me wrong here, I actually like the game, but it's lacking the feel of a living world for a MMO... it's lacking a lot of the RPG side actually, and maybe that's really it. It's just a social shooter, but ultimately, that was it's promise, and perhaps that's ultimately all they plan to deliver.... more stuff to shoot.

That experiment to it's own end, could be it's demise. That alone will not be enough for me. I don't want to go catpure a flag or find a key and shoot guys to get there. There's too much rinse and repeat in that alone. Shooters are far too... boring, if that's all you get in the equation. If you don't add the 'world' of abilities, life, roles and economy around them, I have better things to do with my time.

Here's hoping they do flesh it out more. I think there's a lot of potential here.

I love it, I thought it was going to get repetitive but I've found mixing things up keeps you entertained. I personally can't wait to see what the dlc will have to offer, not too sure about new races though, starting that EGO rating all over o_O

I think the game is alot of fun and yes, quite addictive. The Arkfalls are still fun and I really hope they improve that aspect of the game as well. I would give it a solid 7/10 at the moment.
I would really like to see a city established for everyone to meet at for trading, social etc.
Other than that things seem to be getting better and Trion seems to be vigilant in regards to improving the game which is great!

I second that city for trading/socializing. We really need one of those lol

When you get that happy, and you can see everything that you worked for come to fruition.. you might cry too. See, it's moments like those, that make everything you worked for, worth it.

Other than being a MMO on a console, the gameplay is really nothing 'new' or ground breaking. Run, shoot, repeat (which is fine). BUT, I love the fact that there are dozens of people almost anywhere you go, and 50+ possibly at most arkfalls.

With more patches and more content, the game can only improve. I think it's a decent game, but like I told my friends, it was never a "wow, you HAVE to buy Defiance" kind of game.

Now if only some of the players can pull their heads out of their rears, it would be better. No cars in arkfalls and more reviving would make it much better.
Personally, I love having vehicles in arkfalls. It makes blasting away at an ugly chunk of rock more manageable when all the enemies are bloody paste.

I like single-player. The campaign is boring at best. Nothing exciting, nothing to get me emotionally involved. Coming off Bioshock Infinite I guess I'm expecting too much, but I still expect to feel something for the characters I'm interacting with. The side missions are pure crap. Go here, kill stuff, press that button, rinse and repeat.

Multiplayer pvp is broken beyond repair. Cloak is overpowered, everything else (besides Overcharge) is weak or to niche to make an impact. I've looked and there's no Capture and Hold in any of the pvp besides Shadow War. <-- Even though there are specific challenges associated with it.

I actually wouldn't mind pvp, if only I could just play Shadow War Team Deathmatch. Also the co-op missions are really buggy and the "multiplayer" part of the open-world is almost non-existent.

All in all. 6/10. Although after my rant I'm leaning toward a 4/10. This stuff gets repetitive you know? And MMO's are supposed to stay fresh. Bi-weekly updates with new challenges and data-recorders don't come close.

I would also love it if Trion could implement some type of crafting or tradeskills of some type..

    My honest opinion? Ok...

    So, *cracks fingers*

Defiance, I can safely say this game flew under the radar for me, in fact, I'd say I didn't even knew it existed. Maybe because I don't keep my gaming ear to the ground or that I simply don't check to see what the upcoming games are about to be released.

I only knew about it's existence from watching a Mass Effect 3 video on youtube (Collectors / Platinum / Solo for those ME3 fans out there) that's when he mentioned Defiance, so I looked it up and found myself on this website.

First impressions? Well, it's an MMO for the Xbox so that for me made it interesting, not many out there on the market today, you know. Then I learn it's linked to it's own TV Show, my curiosity grew even more at that point so I decided to join up on the forums.

When I actually stepped foot on the world of Defiance the first thing I noticed was the like of Chatter, now I know the chat feature was bugged for a while and so was the voice chat but it's like nobody even tried to communicate for whatever reason. It couldn't be lack of actual players because I don't know about you who ever is reading this but for me, there's plenty of people around at any given time.

I was starting to believe the whole ''Xbox - Anti Social Entertainment'' theory which has popped up numerous times through out the internet, however that was quickly shunned because I could guarantee if our American friends were able to join in then the chatbox / voice chat would be flooded. It's an MMO after all so that is what it needs.

I'd see a herd of people at Iron Demon Ranch, so I'd initiate a conversation but nothing would come of it, I remember one time I decided to test the public to see if they would actually reply to something depending on what it's about. Straight up no bulls**t this is what I said.

''I'm selling Cass's Legendary D*ldo... used once, amazing stats''... nothing for about 2 minutes.. until...

''How much?''.... It was an intense moment to say the least, not only did I receive a shock from even getting a reply, the reply itself literally made me laugh out loud.. coupled with the fact that he/she actually thought it was for real.

Then it was like somebody had farted, the whole place just evacuated just like that. Maybe it was an organized Arkfall convoy, who knows, so I was left there in the company of a fellow Ark Hunter who was keeping himself occupied by throwing down a Bio grenade, walking in it, then attempting to do some Poo Parkour. It kept me amused for a solid 10 - 15 minutes easy.

On my travels through the wasteland I've come across people who actually do talk or use a Chatpad / Keyboard, though oddly enough, those particular times lead to some unexpected conversations. I was heading towards a Vendor when I noticed 3 Ark Hunters on the side of a grassy patch of road, huddled around each other discussing ''How many breasts it has'' on Area Chat.

Intrigued by this I planted on the breaks, got out of the Dodge and wondered over to see what they were looking at, I got there and noticed 2 or 3 POW's grazing, standing around minding there own business. It was then when I noticed a shimmer near the POW's, it was either Predator closing in for the kill or it was a fellow Ark Hunter in cloak.

I couldn't actually believe what I was seeing, he was giving live David Attenborough commentary while stalking this POW's intent on finding out how many 'Breasts' they had. It was then when I began to love Defiance and the certain individuals who play it, if any of you who were involved in that little event, thanks... that was simply the defining part of my time in this virtual world.

So as I progressed through the Main Quest Line, I realized just how much there was to do whether it was Time Trials to Rampages etc it was nice to see a little variety, driving around I'd see Side Missions and all sorts, not to mention the emergency events, which is good as it kept me amused for some time.

Look past the graphics and the sometimes dodgy mechanics / not to mention the bugs etc then Defiance scores well in my books, I'm not the one for PvP on these types of games per say, so I haven't really had the chance to check that out. When I did eventually get into a match I got my **** pushed in by people using Cloak armed with a Shotgun. I'm not even on par with those people yet so I finished the match and left, haven't been back on Matchmaking since. Not because of that, it's just personal preference is all.

Since I've joined these forums, I've been called a Fanboy a few times. I can see why though, I'm the type of gamer who sits on the fence about these sort of things, maybe I'm apart of that 'section' who just has patience and understands that **** happens, take it on the chin and just wait it out. That could be seen as 'Defending' but take it as you will.

Trion are doing there best and so far, I'm quite happy with Defiance if I'm totally honest. Now if only I just said that apart from typing this wall of text... so much easier, then again, I was asked for my honest opinion right?

    Take it easy.
