Yeah, you really could get keycodes quickly before. No doubt about that.
I have no real issue with them not being on events now.
As long as you contribute enough in a major/minor arkfall, you will get loot. If you do, it pops up after the arkfall is complete.

The question is "Do you get loot from arkfalls now?" Yes you do. after you have gone through the event of the arkfall you will receive loot after the event is complete and you close the scoring tab. If you do not receive the loot for some reason, it is due to the fact that your inventory is full. If your inventory is full you will not receive it in your claim items tab from the Defiance store. That fact alone is annoying but at a higher level who really cares. You will just either sell it or turn it into resources. The items received after the arkfall are grenades and/or shields. These are rarely an upgrade and I do mean rarely. If you are hell bent on better gear, save your keycodes and buy the lockboxes. I personally have found 7 Orange items from tier 4 lockboxes. My recommendations are either tier 3 or 4 for the higher percentage of better item drops. If you need tips on better farming for gear, feel free to ask myself or other successful hunters.

Basically, the better you do in a major ark fall...the loot quality gets worse and worse.
